Paypal or Google Checkout both accepted. You can download the demo there, which is the game, simply activate it when you're ready to buy.
The main problem is accessing the site in first place. Its really stupid how ppl keep hyping their games without taking any measures to prepare their infrastructure for that hype. As I never use Steam, I guess I will just enjoy the demo for a few days until things settle down and maybe gog will get a version soon :)

I was about to make a new thread about this, but I'm going to just rant here instead as I'm too pissed off:

I waited until roughly 12.30am yesterday with a couple of friends so we'd be able to play online from launch, as we were all excited about it. I had previously tried to make a Runic account, but every single computer that I tried in this country (and I tried about a dozen), the Runic site said the IP was from spammers and wouldn't let me join. Clearly it thinks anyone who lives in Cambodia is a spammer, but I figured I'd let it slide as clearly it would let me make an account in game. Except, it won't. And their servers are STILL down, 12 hours later, so I can't find out if it will even let me do it on their site using the link from in game.

They knew this would happen, they must have. Even GOG brings it's own site down with traffic when they do simple givaways of ten year old games. All Runic needed to do was take a few of the many, many dollars they made in preorders and put it towards some extra hosting and DDoS protection. Is that so much to fucking ask for? Seriously? Jesus fucking Christ. You spend years building a super awesome game, take everyone's money for it in advance, and you don't even bother getting your site to work so people can get a fucking account to play your game. FUCK YOU RUNIC. I don't care how good your next game looks, I won't pre order it, and will probably just pirate it instead. I bet the pirates don't have to make shitty Runic accounts on your non functional website, they are probably just laughing at you and me both right now over Hamachi. FUCK YOU.

I can't connect to the site right now. Is it just me and my connection here, or does this happen to anybody else as well?

Their servers are utterly overwhelmed at the moment. Like everyone else you'll have to wait until either traffic dies down or they get their act together and get more server capacity.

Read my rant above. They DDoSd their own site by not preparing for the extra traffic that they clearly could have predicted. The result is that even if you buy the game, you can't play online with your friends who all waited up all fucking night to play with you, because non of you can make a stupid fucking Runic account. Oh, and you can't complain to their customer support, because of course, that's down too. Afterall, if they didn't think it would be important to have the capacity to let people make accounts to play the game with their friends, why would they think it was important for people to be able to contact support?

I'm raging so hard right now. If I'd just got a pirate copy of the game I'd be happily playing with my friends on Hamachi. I guess this is how genuine customers get rewarded these days, with shitty spam accounts on non functional websites with no hope of help or support.
Ah yes, I didn't notice you already posted about it above. Thanks.
Started okayung it and loving it. Although was not impressed with graphics i felt where a bit washed out but once you get into it you dont care. Game mechanics are great action is solid and the music oh man the music its brilliant.

I am glad i bought this over diablo 3 although i had to wait a while for it.

Anyone who loved diablo1 & 2 should try the demo its worth the play.

This now sees to be fixed, I was just able to access the site, create an account, and link it to my Steam account. Fortunately I didn't die of ragefit before they got it working : /

Edit: Nope, it still doesn't work. It let me register with Runic, but it won't let me link my Runic account to my Steam purchased TL2. When I hit the button to link them it just comes back with a "page not found" error. Complete assholes.

The low graphics version is still working for me, dunno, I only had to refresh like twice to get the full site earlier in the evening. I agree about scaling, there's really no excuse for fucking it up these days, given the cloud, but this is way better than D3 from what I hear and there were many apologists for that:)

FYI, drunk, not trying to tear into anyone, hope you get your game and have some fun.
Lost my first character to a welcoming party at a dungeon entrance. It's always fun to be surrounded by multiple special monsters + their mobs when you enter a place you couldn't see. Very bad for a "no vitality" character, though :p

Hardcore is the way to go :D

/edit: I also finally managed to register for online play, and after I registered my copy of Torchlight 2, they sent me an email suggesting that I might be interested in buying Torchlight 2. Anyway, if you haven't been able to register before, you might want to give it a try now.

I was really looking forward for this game. But besides that it was already a challenge to connect to their web page that got (and still gets) hammered, I really don’t like the payment methods. I neither want to create a Google, nor a PayPal account just to buy a game.

So, I’ll also wait till things have calmed down and the initial problems and bugs have been solved and either pick the game up from another shop or wait till the game gets released in a bundle or on GOG.com.

I have picked up some good games from GOG.com recently as well as the Humble Bundle 6 and I have some great fun with Rochard. So, there isn’t really any time for a new game anyway. :-)

You might want to play Path of Exile in the meantime to get your ARPG fix. I've played both Torchlight 2 and Path of Exile, and while I've clocked in more hours in PoE (roughly 50-70 hours?), so far my impression is that both games are equally good. I can't choose which is the better of the two - and that's a good sign, because it means I also think both games should be played.

So yeah, while waiting for TL2 to be on GOG, why not give PoE a try.

Perfect World Entertainment offers Skrill which is through Moneybookers. Despite what I said earlier, they do seem to be doing a much better job of customer service than what I was afraid of.

Plus, you get the Neverwinter beta access key.

EDIT: If you go that route, you'll get both P2P and HTTP access through the installer so it shouldn't be any problem downloading no matter how overwhelmed the servers get.
