Resisting the urge to click. I've managed to not watch RGFansite's streams of the press build all week now. Couple more days to go...

Nothing much spoilerish. Just them running about killing mobs.

Adzeth: The soundtrack is now available on the game's site, for free.

mondo84: Man there are so many reasons to support Runic. They are just a great company. I hope Torchlight 2 does well and converts people from Diablo 3.
I hope it diverts people from D3 before giving Blizzard any money. From what I've seen of the gameplay in TL2 and D3, it's pretty clear that TL2 is more D3 than D3 is.
Does anyone happen to be in the know about that Perfect World store's inner workings? My connection isn't all that fast, and I was wondering if the system allows downloading the thing on a friend's computer with his faster connection and then using physical stuff to copy it to mine.

According to runic, PW sells the non-steam version (which is same as demo version and the key converts it to full version) so it should be fine downloading it on your friend's computer, copying it over and just inputting the key when prompted.

Of course this is theoretical opinion as I haven't tried doing so:)
I ended up preordering it on Steam since I at least know what I'm getting into with Steam, and the pre-loading was pretty tempting.

Meh.
If it's great, I can get an archive copy later. It's not like I haven't bought 5 copies of HoMM3.
So, when does the downloading begin? It's the 20th here, but I'm guessing that it probably is going to be GMT -8 midnight.
did not follow the game much, but so far does it have substantial difference from Torchlight 1 or just minor additions like new classes?

They have extra classes. But the game world is a lot larger than before. One big thing is that you spend far more time outside in a real world between quests. They've also updated the inventory system and mod tools.

I played the online test version and it looks like it's going to be a bargain for people even if they have no interest in multiplayer.

One thing I'm interested in is that you can take a character that's played through the entire game and start over with the same character, all the loot and skills transferred.

So yes, basically it has the same feel, but it's a much larger game and there should be a good set of mods available before too long if the game itself isn't varied enough.
Unlocks for me in 16 hours. Won't get to play today, so tomorrow after work. Borderlands 2 unlocks in 13 hours at 11pm which means I can sneak in 1-2 hours of play.

Interesting. Is that a steam copy? I bought mine from a Perfect World and there's nothing in the email or on the page to reflect when it's going to be released today.

Co-op, that's the biggest new feature.

And local, system link, peer-to-peer I heard.

A rarity in pc gaming these days
