To be honest, I suspect it'll come to one of the mainline Humble Indie Bundles before it comes to GOG. GOG might get a last-minute look in, but I'd wager it appearing in the HIB 13 or 14.

See if you can find IcoFX 1.6.4, up until then it was freeware (and it's still good, with support for high-res icons and semi-transparency), but the developer started charging for later versions. It's probably the best icon creator I've used.

Because it's tedious. It starts out OK, but the game outlives the amount of actual gameplay by quite a bit. I tried playing it and it was fun for a while, but after a while you wind up with just the same thing over and over again.

It's the same basic problem that Diablo had, but because Diablo was something that was more or less new, it was a bit easier not to realize how mind-numbingly repetitive it was.

That's too bad. 'Another game ruined by DRM. A user shouldn't have to turn their internet on or off just to play a singleplayer game. I wish gaming devs would learn. :-/

Can't you just use the icon of the launcher? Maybe there is an icon to use in the game folder or maybe the executable also has an icon in it (probably not or otherwise Windows would have used it with the link already). I have the Torchlight 2 retail version as well, but not installed at the moment. Did not know that you could bypass the launcher by directly starting the game executable, so thanks for the tip.

Just right click on your link to the executable and go to Properties.
There should be a button for Change Symbol or Other Symbol (dunno exactly because my Windows is in German) in the lower middle part of the Properties window ion the "Link" tab. Click it.
Now chose a symbol or click "Browse" and go to the Torchlight folder and chose one of the executables or the icon in the folder if available.
This is how it usually works with icons on Windows.

I just hope that GOG Galaxy convinces Runic to bring Torchlight II here.

there have been some massively ingrained with DRm titles on GOG. and somehow they were stripped out. T2 could easily come to gog with lan only support, it would be simple to do.

I for one would buy it, I dont like the steam version and dont need the steamworks support.

TL2 won't come to GOG anytime soon - they stated it already on the forum.

I think Runic is to enamoured with their precious DRM to throw us a bone any time soon, if ever.

Maybe it's because I have it on Steam, but the whole logging in thing is optional, to the point that if you're playing single player only, you might not even know that logging in was an option. Even when I turned off the internet there weren't any problems.

My bad, well then use the editor icon in the folder for one of them and the normal one for the other.

Alternatively you can use any picture from "Torchlight 2" from Google or other search machines to create your own icon by downloading it to your computer, well simply save the picture from your web-browser as .bmp file. The picture size does not matter much. Windows will scale it to an icon, although you should probably not choose a desktop wallpaper to be an icon. Then rename any filename.bmp you want to use to filename.ico to make it an Windows icon and copy it to the game folder. Do the exchange in the link like I suggested earlier and you should be fine with your own personal icon.
