I am really wanting to play Torchlight 2, but I don't know how much time I should wait for it to come to GOG, if it will ever come here.

Currently it's on summer sale on Steam for just under 5 -Euro, but my conscience doesn't let me make this step, knowing that there is a possibility for it to arrive on GOG.

What to do...what to do....
I definitely don't want to sell my soul to those vampires...
I'm guessing no way which is why I ended up getting it elsewhere. I am a freak of the series so I only recommend getting it if you share that love because it does have DRM and it is a pain.

Which kind of DRM?

You have to log on to start it. That can be a pain for me because of where I live my connection comes and goes and sometimes when I want to play it I can't. Also it technically has a limited number of installs but when I contacted Runic they told me if I ever ran out just let them know and they'd immediately give me some more.
inb4 the obligatory "Hope that GOG Galaxy convinces Runic to bring Torchlight II here" post.

I doubt that we will ever see Torchlight II here on GOG. I'll buy the Steam version some time this year, loved the first game and have to play TL II as soon as my "new" gaming PC is finished.
I was afraid that TLII has some kind of DRM implemented, and now the post from tinyE confirms it. It's the worst kind of DRM...the one that forces you to log-in. I hate it. And on top of that, I only get a limited number of installs? How stupid is that....

I am starting to be more and more convinced that I will not buy it. And this time it's not Steam's fault, unfortunately the developer/publisher seems to push me in this direction.

I still have to play T1 (got it here), but some people really hated it for some reason. : (
I hope it will be good as you say!
It's indeed improbable that T2 will come here too.
I don't really get the hate towards the first Torchlight. I mean, hack and slash games can get old a little bit fast, but other than that it's pretty good. And you could play the single player campaign offline, which some other games starting with D and ending with iablo 3 couldn't say.

Lack of multiplayer affected the first Torchlight, maybe?

I really don't understand why they can't just disable the DRM and send it to GOG like they did with the first Torchlight. I'd rather play a singleplayer-only game on GOG than not play it at all.

You can play without internet connection by starting the exe directly and by-passing the launcher. The only difference is that you will not get any patches if available.

What gets me is you as soon as you start playing you can ctrl-alt delete, go to your desktop, turn off the internet connection, and the game runs fine. Maybe they figure it's no big deal which for most of the civilized world it isn't.

I will say this, the game updates itself constantly, thank god only at startup ie: it doesn't break in mid game and tell you to download a new patch.

You can by-pass that bit, see above.

FAR OUT! XD
You da man!
The patch part shouldn't be a problem; just check in with the launcher every now and then to make sure you aren't missing anything good.

Well, there's only one way to find out - play it! You will either like it or not. ;)

I usually don't think much of reviews or recommendations, especially overly positive or negative ones.
I prefer to just play games and make up my own mind.
