I mean, if you're going to beg, you could at least come up with a nice reason for it. Either something heartbreaking but more or less plausible so some one will feel sorry for you ("I'm an 11 year old orphan whose father* took all my money to buy beer") or something so out there some one will appreciate the effort ("I'm an alien from the vicinity of Alpha Centouri and NASA confiscated my space ship and the guys from Area51 took all my credits.")
Either way, probably no one is going to gift you the game, but you may get less downvotes...
*stepfather, obviously

The only "mistake" this kid made was to start a new thread about this. That's the only one. I don't understand why you're crucifying this fella for this, yet you allow all the others who beg to beg in peace?
Just look at the gifting threads, they're filled with people asking games, some of them are more expensive than Torch 2. Why are they not low rated, but this is?

This kid done nothing wrong. Take a peek at gifting thread for much extreme examples. Gifting thread has turn into some kind of lottery or ATM machine for certain user.

The gifting culture is based around people's generosity and it seems to have evolved to "just ask and you may get lucky".
Anyway, each to their own and worth a shot I guess - it's just not my way of doing things.
Back on topic, be patient as these sales are not one-off exclusives. You may find it pops up even cheaper on a future sale. In the meantime, buy a $3 or $5 game to keep you entertained. There's plenty of action/(c)RPGs out there on the cheap, especially if you don't mind an older title.

Have you asked your parents? What did they say?
If you wash the car, mow the lawn, wash the dishes and give food to goldfish, I wouldn't be surprised you'll have a nice shiny Torchlight 2 Steam key in your hands in no time. That's what I did when I was a kid, and look at my gaming backlog now!
Oh and sorry I can't help you more, my religion forbids gifting Steam keys.

Kids these days... back in my day games were so expensive, store owners had them locked behind glass and you had to ask an employee to unlock the shelf to get a game. And we didn't get fancy Steam deals, we would get one game, maybe two if your parents were rich, per year and we would be stuck with it. Of course back in the golden old age there was this thing called "trading" and "borrowing" where we could share games without limitations. There were no accounts either and we didn't have to use the internet at all (not that we could, because the internet hadn't even been invented yet)

*gifts tinyE a slap on the cheek* Happy? =P
Oh, yes, being carefully watched by the store owner/employee because "hey! hat kid may steal that game" for no other reason than me being a kid was so much fun. Hell, all I wanted to do is ogle the pretty cardboard boxes! I also bought some when I could... and I was far from a rich kid, but I suppose I was luckier than others as my Dad shared my passion for PC games. :)

Alphabrut - at 16, you are a kid, it wasn't meant to be offensive - if you are that touchy now, I don't envy your future life.
now that is out the way - I see you have played Champions Online - if you like mmo can i suggest Rift or SWOTR online. You also have at least 8 games free from GOG which you could complete.
If you stay (i hope you will) and therefore become part of our community (+ rep :)) the next time it goes 75% 0ff (5£, 5$ etc or less), send me the link and i will get it for you.
