Wraith: Resident Evil 4-5 - I am the one person in the world who doesn't like the way Resident Evil's direction took. Yes, the combat system is vastly superior to the old games, but the fact that the zombies, the monsters that made Resident Evil famous, were replaced with "infected" people who could still shoot at you, run after you, etc was a bit stupid. Even the infected people in 28 Days Later couldn't use weapons, and I loved that movie. I knew Resident Evil 5 was likely going to have similar issues, but I still played it and beat it. For me, I still want to see a Resident Evil game with Resident Evil 4-5 gameplay and graphics, but with the old school stuff of Resident Evil 1-CV. Unfortunately, I think this has basically been replaced by Dead Rising, which is awesome, but a bit silly.
melchiz: Manjini/Ganados are more Lovecraft than Romero, which is a great improvement. They are zombie-like in that they are mindless and lust for blood, but these possessed villagers are intelligent and capable of cooperating, which replaces cheap scares with more substantive thrills. Also, putting RE5's Chris Redfield against RE's zombies would result in an undead massacre. RE's Chris had skinny arms and a worthless knife, but his older self is a murder machine. Those biceps are too much for the undead! I was never once "thrilled". Beating 4 and 5 is a lesson in frustration and patience. Waves upon waves of enemies isn't intense, its annoying. Especially when they get cheap hits on you constantly. The thing is, the game series had already been proven to work for 4 games prior. Changing it was a decision made to make it more accessible to other gamers.
Plus, there are still some outstanding questions regarding the series. What happened to the G-Virus and T-Veronica virus? Both were capable of creating zombies and tons of creatures (Birkin was by far the most impressive boss ever featured in an RE game) and samples of them still exist, as seen in Degeneration. I THOUGHT the Los Plagas sample shown in the end of RE4 was the G-Virus since it was purple, but apparently it wasn't.
We already know Wesker was given an experimental virus similar to the G-Virus to make him superhuman, but whatever happened to all three of those viruses after Tricell went under? The Los Plagas saga is over IMO, so hopefully we can return to hunters, lickers, zombies and rotting dogs in the next few years.

I said the original RE on the Playstation not the remake. Back then he had two ballons tied with string as his arms.

Goddamn Trespasser, the Jurassic Park game only known today for the health meter being a tattoo on your character's left tit that you had to look down to see.
That game was built upon wasted potential. So many cool ideas, ruined. I'd love to see it remade in Source, or somethin'.

Legendary.
It was a very cool concept, but they fucked it up and left us with an unfinished and glitchy game.
Die by the Sword
The controls completely killed this for me.
Magic and Mayhem: The Art of Magic
A sequel to Magic and Mayhem? That sold me. Little did I know that it is a trainwreck compared to the original. Although I do admit, it isn't terrible, it's just nowhere near as good as it.

The Resident Evil 4/5 games were fun in their own right. Although I don't agree with the arbitrary restriction of not strafing (fixed in 5) and having stand still to aim in shoot (probably to be added in 6). But those games are definitely not the survival horror games that the classic ones were. RE4 and RE5 should've been spinoffs and not numbered sequels. Or even completely different titles using original characters and settings.
