I have toothache, and it sucks. Major time. I think I might have at least one cavity.
Strange thing is, I can chew my food just fine without any pain. I can brush my teeth without any pain.
The pain just comes without warning and stay around for a while, with its icing precense. Then it's gone.

Is that a sign of cavity?

Go see your dentist/doctor. Don't ask a freaking gaming forum.
Only a dentist can give you a definitive answer, but the bouts of toothache that I get from time to time (which don't coincide with eating or brushing) have nothing at all to do with cavities as I have no fillings.
I'm sure there's a differential that covers the pattern of symptoms that you've described, but every time a dentist tells me I forget all of them (my brain doesn't record things that I'll never do).

Suck it up and drop the cash to get it taken care of.
I'll just dial my dentist then. Better hope I can come in as an emergency case.
I watched many informative cartoons as a kid, and so I know what to do:

1. Loop a piece of twine around the offending tooth.
2. Tie the other end to the knob of a heavy door.
3. Slam the door.

But it isn't loose
Toothaches are usually a symptom of an infection. Cavities can form without any toothache. I just had an infected tooth earlier this year, and that definitely isn't an experience I want to relive. Definitely go see your dentist.

I can't believe you people actually gave this guy advise to call a dentist. I'm very disappointed in this forum.
If it makes you feel any better I recently lost one of my two front teeth which I was going to immediately replace with a bridge. Well my new insurance won't cover the bridge until Jan 1st 2016, so I've got a whole year of looking like this.

You mean it will cover it, but will let a year pass?

Sounds like a cavity that has been ignored for far too long.
