Snickersnack: I thought Tomb Raider Underworld was great. I just purchased a second copy over the holidays to get it DRM-free.
Where can you get it DRM free?

I got the new generation games during the summer sale on Steam and I rather liked them. Underworld was actually my favourite, then Legend and Anniversary last. I also didn't remember any bugs and was happy with the controls. (Using a game pad)
lol every tomb raider game has the same level of combat, one thing tomb raider never changed was combat, as for the gameplay overall i dont mind the crazy jump sequence but the camera angle makes me go dizzy. seriously could have learned something from assassin creed by now

Dyscode pointed it out a couple weeks ago. The Gamersgate release appears to be DRM-free though it is not listed as such in the store front. GG TRU will install without a network connection, requires no keys, and is reputed to work in Wine (games normally need to be cracked to run on Wine because it's not close enough to real Windows for many copy protection schemes).

Gamersgate uses a downloader to distribute and automatically install its games. The installers can be copied fairly easily but it's unlikely GG would approve.

TRU's DVD release was apparently just a Securom disc check.

This post says the Amazon DD version is also DRM-free. If Amazon forced it that might explain the Gamersgate release.

I don't have the Amazon version so I can't verify but it might be worth a gamble at $5.99 it's currently listed for on Amazon USA.
Wow. DRM free! I didn't know that!

And I did like Tomb Raider Underworld. I played it on the Wii however where the game only has like less than 10% of the original HD console versions. I also play the Underworld demo countless of times on the PC. I'm not sure I agree with the negative comments about it.

This game is killing me.
I just completed the second level of the game (Thailandia) but this game is junk. I was forty damned minutes on a simple jump! And I'm using a 360 pad! The game simply don't recognize the gripping point too many times, and Lara falls to the death.
I loved all Tomb raider games. Well, those newer. In Underworld I just once got stuck in some kind of space between some stairs. I probably will play those again soon.

Still better than Legacy of Kain: Defiance for me >.<
I liked it.

Play with a pad.
I played Underworld on PC with mouse and keyboard (played through the 'triliogy' of Anniversary, Legend, Underworld consecutively). Have to say, they all played well, though did have some differences in control method. However, I didn't experience any of these jumping issues that are being discussed.

Just for reference, of the three, I liked Anniversary the best, but I enjoyed them all.
I've never encountered this issue. Are you sure you're simply jumping onto places Lara isn't supposed to go? That's what my Tomb Raider training taught me.

I play with mouse and keyboard on the Thailand demo and I didn't have any problems whatsoever.

Yes,I'm jumping on the right place.
By the way, I'm now into the third level of Mexico location...I'm proceding only because I bought this game, but I'm really hating it. The plot is simply non-existent, the puzzles are stupid and the game is really buggy. Ah, I saw on Steam game hub that bugs are "random", some people run the game smoothly, some people, like me, have several problems. And there is a costant stuttering, for me, I can't find a way to avoid it :(
If you bought an actual disc, you should spare yourself the pain and sell it to someone else. The point of playing a game is being entertained, you know?

The plot is pretty much shot in this game. I personally just enjoyed the scenery. I remember the Wii game not being buggy except for one area in Thailand that was game breaking. Anyway, good luck.

It's the Steam version, I bought the "All Tomb Raider" pack during holiday sale :(
Ahh i recall playing it some on PS2 it was quite bad, and i was stuck in a level with a giant Octopus very near the begginning.. I purchased it for PC for a second chance and low price tag but have yet to play it, though this thread is surely not enrouraging.. :D

Edit : Loved 1, 2 and anniversary, much liked 4, 5, legend so far. Hated 3. The one with top view from Square i played a few and was very good, and the upcoming reboot game is really promising!
