Crosmando: I honestly haven't played it, I've just been kinda enjoying Ultima 8 lately since it came to GOG. Bad then?

DCT: Depends as a Ultima is crap, no one from any of the pervious games worked on it and series creator Richard Garriott had little to nothing to do with the game outside of a production credit. So everything you know about Britannia, the lore and everything get's pissed on big time more so then all the retcannons Orgin did to the series(at least then they were minor changes here and there) plus things are often not where there supposed to be like the Shrine of humility is located in the sea instead of the isle of the avatar, Modain's skull which was destroyed by the Avatar in four when he casted it into a volcano to open the way to the Abyss and later the isle of Terafan appeared on that same spot is now in the museum which leads me to wonder why such a evil and poweful artifact that can destroy alllife now as a just game and over looking all the bugs it's mediocre to subpar at best.
Wasn't there also an issue with a dagger that was from Pagan being in the museum?

Also, look up the Bob White plot for Ultima 9. Apparently, it was a totally different plot altogether...

There was, just goes to show how much I tried to erase the memory of that game from my memory. But yeah I did read the Bob White plot despite still having the silly notion that the gaurdian was the evil half of the Stranger from another world that was split from him when he obtained Avatarhood, which is silly since that implies that the Avatar is a good pure being as opposed to being what he was orginally written as which was a regular person who became a example of what people can obtain by following the three prinicables and the eight virtues that make them up. In other words the Avatar was more of a Buddha type of charecter rather then some pure being devoid of human failings, It was a really good outside of that one little nitpick and felt more like what one comes to expect of Ultima not to mention all the vile things you did back in Pagan play a stronger role as opposed to being like they never happened.

If I recall there was supposed to have been a fan made Ultima IX that was going to use the scrapped Bob White version of the plot but sadly it never saw the light of day outside of a early concept of the game.
