Do you realize that you are going against what GOG stands for? DRM-free gaming and fair pricing, that is not something other services have to offer. This is the biggest reason GOG is popular, as for the old games you can find them in many other stores anyway. By promoting places like Steam, no matter how good the deal is, you contribute to developers and publishers choice to release games on Steam and not places like GOG.

Please keep your gaming deals, giveaways of Steam games(there are websites like Steamgifts for that anyway) and info about new releases to yourself, thank you! You might think that you are trying to be helpful(especially with Steam games giveaways), but you don't see the bigger picture. Contrary to what you might think people who play PC games are well informed about sales or new releases, what you are doing is simply an free advertising for gog.com competitors. Peace.
The Guild.

They know. I think it is more of a question as to whether they care or not.
Welcome to gOg, make sure you get Psychonauts here, and NiGHTS into Dreams on Steam.
Wow, somebody has quite a lot to say for being here for such a short amount of time. These things have happened for quite some time now, and if GOG was against it, I'm more than sure a mod would have said or done something about it by now. While I can respect your opinion on the matter, you should respect others' opinions that finding a game not available on GOG for an absurdly low price is worth spreading the word. Peace out, yo.
Welcome To GoG, enjoy games. No matter where they come from.
Somebody hasn't lurked long enough to understand this forum dynamics. Just a piece of advice, people aren't too keen to be told what they should do by somebody without any authority on the matter. If GOG admins are cool with what has been going on around here (and they are) that should be the end of the argument.

I agree. May I suggest that you buy Sacrifice in protest?

Not exactly. A lot of deals in the classifieds thread are game trades with steam codes for GOG codes. So GOG still benefits from sales.
You know I joined this site because I wanted to buy some old games that weren't available anywhere else instead of loading them from abandonware sites like I did before and when it comes to DRM free i have to say that I like it but I also like the convenience steam gives me and chose to buy wherever the games are cheaper with these two and from other stores only if the deal is quite a bit better than it is on Steam (or a store that sells Steamcodes) or here and what exactly do you mean with fair prices? If it is different regional prices then I have to say I have bought quite some indigames here because the price was better due to not having $=€ prices.

It matters to me. I am not trying to be a fanboy and quite frankly I made here an account only because of free Duke Nukem 3D, but after staying around for a couple of days I can see the true quality of this service. It's not about old games to me, it's about DRM-free games. Can't wait for my payday :)
Well, GOG is something else in the digital distribution business. They give us (gamers/customers) freedom to write almost everything we like (even about deals on other digital distribution services) and because of this we all love GOG.
The other thing is how can we do things against GOG when writing about deals of games that are not on GOG (e.g. BIOSHOCK or MASS EFFECT or DARKSIDERS or eny other game that is not here)?
On topic - one of the reasons this forum is so active is just exactly the freedom found here. There is very little moderations and restrictions. People come here to discuss games and sometimes gaming deals. Restricting these conversations to only what goG sells will kill the forum off very quick. This forum in one of the reasons may comes back to this site constantly, and Gog gets quite a lot of PR and custom from it.

The games being highlighted is games which you can not get here, or which you can get cheaper elsewhere, both these facts is something gog should be aware of, and ignore the fact that they exist is really burring their head in the sand. Anyway, the forums here are very nice and any sniff of corporate regulations will kill off quite a lot of the ambience. Peace out.

Sorry for being an idiot, but what's the joke with Sacrifice? : )
