I saw an entire thread on this in another forum created by a guy who loved gaming, but he turned 19, went off to college, and now he is worried because gaming is no longer the most important thing in his life. I theorized that gaming will of course take a back seat in your 20s because you've just become an adult, you are expected to immediatly figure out what the hell you want to do with your life, you've gone from mom's home cooking to ramen noodles, you are selfish, and worst of all you absolutly don't know shit about anything yet you are convinced you know everything about everything.

I was that way untill 30 when I got settled, stopped trying to do something with my life, and most important, came to the realization that I was an idiot! :D Now I'm back to either gaming 24/7, hanging out in here, or watching pro wrestling.

Why yes, I am single? Why do you ask?
Who cares about having a lover when there are n00bs to pwn :P

In seriousness, you are right. I'm finding that gaming is taking a backseat more now that I'm expected to actually be a productive member of society. I still find time to game now and then, but not really quite as much, that and I don't have as much patience to grind in rpgs as I used to.

I've mentioned this before but anyone serious about retro should check out the Activision Anthology Remix. It doesn't have it all but it's got enough classics to bring a tear or two to your eye. It also has Alan Parsons and the Romantics!

Zookie: I am 30, still young by most standards, but a little old in the gaming community. My family got an Apple IIe when I was 5 and I have been gaming ever since.

The 50's are nifty! Well, that is what my uncle who's around 80 likes to tell me when I complain about getting older.

As for the era of the 50's, I was born in the final year of 1959. I was a child of the 60's. :D

Oh, and I'm sure there's folks older than I am around here. In the MMO guild I belong to, The Old Timer's Guild, there are plenty of people older than I am who love gaming. For many of them though, the oldest ones, I notice MMO's are their first real exposure to gaming and they tend to stick with their favorite one like EverQuest 2.

As for 50s being nifty, I have no fear of the next decade. 40s are treating me well. Except for my blurry eye. And I can't go down stairs anymore (just trying to scare the young punks here).

Regarding your eye, if it makes you feel better I'm only 37 and I've already had cataract surgery...twice.

Yikes! No, nowhere near that bad. My one eye is just slightly weaker. Hopefully you had improvements? My mom had one done and she says she doesn't really need to wear her glasses anymore!

And not going down stairs is just me being a lazy so and so. :)

That is a plus. I don't need glasses anymore either and that is VERY nice.
