....I'd like to say "No one could be that stupid," but I know that statement to be a lie. It's like one of those annoying, yappy poodles trying to savage a crocodile; you know it's not going to end well for the little guy.
Well, here's to Tim Langdell, may he rest in peace.

First Jack "Asshole" Thompson, and now Tim "Troll" Langdell.
I may not like a some of their decisions, but when EA's facing those bozos in court, I can't help but cheer on them. One of my friends (who opened their own gaming companies (it's still very small, through)) had some troubles with Langdell, so this time, I'm on EA's side.
He'll probably end up like Leo Stoller.

I remember the last time I came across this bloke I fancied someone releasing a game called "Edgy Edges of Edged Edginess II: The Edges of the Edge's Edged Edges". Or something like that.

He also has racers and mirrors trademarked.
Read the reviews of his newest game racers.

Wonder whether you can copyright words:
Shadow
Game
RPG
Explosion
Magic
War
....
Should research the subject more.

What makes this case really bizarre is that Edge Games hasn't actually released any actual games since 1994; all claimed releases since then are completely bogus, created for the sole purpose of providing evidence that the trademark is still being commercially exploited.
Edge Games only exists in Tim Langdell's twisted imagination.

You can't copyright a word. A word can be a component of a trademark. There are other things such as design and context that need to be considered. It looks to me as though Tim Langdell doesn't stand a chance but, in subjective matters like this, it might just depend on the judge.
Doesn't make sense to me how he can claim damages. Having someone mistake Mirror's Edge for an Edge Games title might just be the best thing that could happen to his dreadfully boring product line.
Also, this is amusing.

lol a review of 'racers':
""Racers" is just repackaged version of a (mediocre) 2 year old game called "Voltage" released by a different publisher in 2008. Look it up. It has been alleged that if you buy this, you'll just get a burned DVD-R with a sticker on it. Avoid."
He did the same thing before also to simply trademark a name. I hope EA take him to the cleaners.

Edge Games®, home of the Gamers Edge®, has long been my favourite games publisher. The Edge® led the way during gaming's golden era with standout titles such as the mind-bending Mazenture® and the captivating Activator®. Since then, the Masters Of The Game® have remained on the Cutting Edge® of game development with breakout genre busters like Mythora® (medieval AND futuristic? Can you beat that!?). Now, Edge® redefines modern gaming with this outstanding addition to the 700 strong Edge Games® catalogue: the cunningly titled Racers®.
Hmm, I wonder which completely-unaffiliated-with-Tim-Langdell person wrote that review?
