THQ is going down, almost as fast as Interplay :D

Hasn't Interplay been shambling around for about a decade?

It's our duty to tear juicy bundles of the fresh carcasses, before the packs of layers start gnawing on the bones.

Yeah, but they are about to loose their last valuable games - i.e. Fallout games next December, and it looks like they are just about to die.

Two massive sales on GOG in short period of time. Increased prices on games that everybody else already have, reanimating the dead corpse Black Isle certainly is, etc. etc.

They will live, of course, because they hire like 3 people now, so they don't need much money to pay the bills, but they're pretty much dead already.

THQ on the other hand, has some valuable assets and people who will probably be bought rather sooner than later by some other company (rumours say Ubisoft)

And it's a good thing. It's a short way for THQ games to hit GOG :P

Fred_DM: why did nobody buy Darksiders 2?!? it got fantastic ratings.
A lot of people bought it. It just didn't sell CoD or even Skyrim numbers, which is what they wanted and expected. Which was silly. Those kinds of games are very "core gamer nerd" style stuff. They do not have broad mainstream appeal and never will.

I bought it with the season pass too and...it's a GOOD game ruined by bad porting.
Everytime I try to go the the inventory one whole minute pass, and sometimes when I return to the game,Death can't move and I'm forced to quit the game and restart. They never fixed this bug.The last DLC,Abyssal Forge,is bugged as hell.

Fred_DM: THQ are good guys in my book. i've bought most of their games at full price, and i've bought the rest during sales and promos. i'd hate to see them close down.

Darksiders 2 is indeed a very good game, unfortunately it had tons of problems at lauch

what kind of problems? Ask Orcishgamer, he will tell you

And thank fuck for that

Week one? What do you mean by that?
Seeing as its Billing Type is "ProofOfPrepurchaseOnly", it means Steam won't be selling this, it will be obtainable elsewhere. If you could by it from Steam, it would be "BillOnceOnly".

Thing is it could be the perfect representation of its genre and I still doubt it would have cracked 3 million. They just had way too high of expectations and budgeted poorly.

This shit is only going to get worse when tech specs increase in a year.

Huh... I already have all of those, except for Armageddon. Oh well, if they truly are DRM free, I'll throw $1 their way just to get a CoH that doesn't require an activation. Ok, $2 if Metro is neatly packed.

You can say a lot of bad things about Interplay, but their "downfall" is anything but fast. Personally, I think the sales through GOG are the biggest (if not only) reason they are still afloat.

I actually have all of them, but I will buy it for an uncensored Steam version of CoH, so my retail can finally go into the bin.

These games will be DRM free right?

No idea so far, but quite possible.
The Humble Bundle support has verified that there will be a Humble THQ Bundle, but it might be a Windows Exclusive. Whether they will be drm-free or not is something I haven't found yet.
