What OS are you using?

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit.
I don't quite remember what went wrong the last time I tried to play MW3 on here, I'll install it again and see what happens.

EDIT: Hmm.. so far it seems to be working without any issues at all.
EDIT2: Stepped off a cliff and bounced into orbit, going to mess around with V-sync and see if that fixes it.

I would happily take any Mechwarrior.

Them's was good times. Sitting in a shallow lake, blowing others away when they came in range and never worrying about overheating. That was some great fun, still like my Timber Wolf. I think that was the name of it.

Ah okay. I'm using WinXP and it works fine, but I think I have to play it in 256 colour mode in order to get it working properly. Can you download it right now? The download link doesn't seem to be working for me.

Oddly having the same problem. Even clicked the link they give on the info page to DL. Nothing seems to be working though. :/

Follow those steps and you should be golden.

MechWarrior 1 won't be seen. Too many legal issues surrounding that game.



You need to download the MTX client to download MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries, and the let that client download MW4:mercs for you.

Thanks a lot dude that did it. I do wish they'd fix the link though. I want to play Mechwarrior 4 with my brothers, but not that badly, and if I didn't know of an alternate link, I might have not bothered to give it a second glance. I mean I've known this project to be in existence for a few years already, but still it's not that high on my priority list, and it'd have probably slipped off my radar again.

I've tried a few suggestions I've read about online to try and fix the 'bouncing' glitch, such as EOP's resolution patch / fix, forcing V-sync and forcing 60Hz refresh rate, but none of them have worked so far.

Found something which seems to have fixed the bouncing glitch in MechWarrior 3 for me:

I used the free utility NVIDIA Inspector to create a profile for MechWarrior 3 and set the 'Frame Rate Limiter' setting to '60 fps'.
I'm not sure why that worked when enabling V-Sync should have done pretty much the same thing.

Mmmm. For some reason, having played Mechwarrior 3 extensively, I can't seem to enjoy MW4 very much. I don't know why either. Years ago I started playing MW3 when it was first released, then I tried MW4, but didn't play it for very long. Now the process has repeated itself, and again I'm just not feeling the "Oomph" I get from MW3 :(

Does anyone else feel that way? There's something about MW4: Merc that I can't put my finger on, which is lacking, compared to MW3.

By the way, are there any good mods for MW4 that you guys can recommend?
