+1 for the originality of the giveaway-theme.

Not entering as I don't want you to take any medicine you don't need :)
I rarely take any medicine other than aspirin, so that's my choice
I don't think you'll be able to try the foulest ones I've tasted, since I took those ones when I was young in China.

When I was a kid, I got a lot of coughing problem. At that time, the most comment coughing medicines are two kinds of liquid. One is red and a little bit thick (not as syrup though), and another one is dark brown and water-ish. Each one tastes absolutely terrible, and most of the time, you need to take them together. So when my mother mix them together (one spoon each), that's a complete nightmare......
Don't really know the name, since hospital uses their own container, and I was too young. It's a western medicine (to distinguish it from Chinese medicine).

Some Chinese medicines also taste terrible. Even worse, you usually have to drink a whole bowl of it.
The foulest tasting cough medicine!?

Have to be scotch or Jaegermeister!
Without a doubt, Buckley's. Their slogan is "It tastes terrible and it works". If you don't believe me try some. Thanks for the giveaway!
I don't take much medicine to begin with. But of the cough medicines I have tried, Robitussin has to be the worse tasting for me.

It's the aftertaste that makes it so foul tasting. Ick!!

DCT: Green Nyquil foul as they come
Agreed! Cherry is good, the green is terrible beyond belief.

(Not entering, thanks and +1 though!)
And if you're sick, I hope you get well soon!

tyLOL hot I guess, I don't use medicine much though
The foulest cough med I can remember taking was some sort of throat lozenge which was clear with a red spot in the middle. Can't remember the name though.
I would join the rest in saying that Robotussin makes me gag to take it.

Edit: I would like to add that Delsym has the awfullest weird taste to it, yucky!

Get well soon Namegoo!

Don't have any foul treatment, but what about strong treatment, will that do?

A good way to combat colds is a nice shot of honey aguardente (a Portuguese high alchoolic drink, similar to vodka, rum, tequila, grappa, calvados,...) right before slipping in a nice, hot, conforting bed!

It has a very strong kick and, altough somewhat sweet because of the honey, leaves a burning sensation all the way down your throat!

Be glad that you have not tried fernet.
A friend of mine had a bottle that he would bring to parties, and told everyone that they were free to drink as much as they wanted from it. After 4 parties, it was thrown away, but still far from empty. If people in their lower 20's (many of which were students) refuse to drink free alcohol, then you know it's bad.
Benylin is the foulest tasting cough medicine I have taken.

Get well soon and Thank you for the giveaway! :)
How appropriate, I'm in the middle of getting over a cold which has moved down into my chest and I've been coughing up unpleasant lumps all day.

The worst tasting cough medicine I remember having was called nirolex, but I haven't had any in years. On the opposite end of things, I find covonia rather delicious.

Thanks for the giveaway!

Alright, the room is now spinning less, but my head still doesn't feel quite attached to my shoulders yet. Hopefully the fever breaks during the night.

I didn't expect to have so many home remedies and cough syrup suggestions that I can actually get rather easily, so I've changed my mind. Instead of only trying the winner's suggestion, I'm gonna try as many as I can. Winner will still be chosen at random though.

I tried this a little earlier...only had a teaspoon however.

Psyringe: One tablespoon of Tabasco. Don't ask. We were in an ... experimental ... mood.
Well, I started coughing for a whole other reason. I can't say it helps much for a sore throat, but it does wonders for decongestion.

I also got myself some green Nyquil, because it was suggested quite a few times and it managed to make a nonswearing girl swear. Also this stuff is supposed to knock me out. But it's not as bad as I was expecting. It's got a mint candy taste to it, along with the usual nastiness of medicine. Not bad at all. I didn't even need my water. I'm disappointed. Now to see if it actually makes me drowsier than I already am...

Nasty. I think you might be worse off than I am.
