And everybody else should give a shit, because what that person did was cruel, evil and fucked up, and something that should absolutely not be tolerated in any way. If we just went "whatever, it's just a cat", we'd basically send the signal that it's all right to be a monster, as long as only animals suffer your evil deeds. And it's not, not by a long shot.

First, the majority of animals that are killed and eaten are raised only for that purpose. It's not as we were hunting wild cows or pigs in nature...
Second point: you're talinkg about killing and eating some animals and not the others. To be honest, I've always found that it was a proof that humans are not totally barbaric, I find it wonderful that, as omnivores, we can still feel something for animals, and actually love them, live with them.
I also "fucking hate" persons who fucking hate for no real reason...
By the way, it's so funny to hear that from you, being one of the users here who use an animal as their avatar.

This is from 6 or 7 of days ago, but i guess it still qualifies as 'news'.
Long story short, a cat managed to trap himself on a roof between two buildings. Naturally after a while he was hungry and thirsty and started making a shit load of noise keeping everybody up on that street at night.
People started feeding him and giving him water, throwing food up there and somehow they also managed to get some cans with food and water up to the roof while they were trying to figure out a way to get the cat down from the roof.
In the meantime, the cat got himself a name. 21, because the name of the street is '21 de Agosto' (August 21st).
The Mayor heard the story and promptly sent the Firemen to get the cat down. The cat was 'adopted' the second he got down by that guy putting the cat in the trap (see vid).

Here's an idea: All lawyers should be public. You get charged, you get assigned a lawyer. That way, if you are rich or poor, you have the same level of access to representation.

I concur, in that I think the child should be open to ideas, and not form conclusions as readily. In my youth, I came to many incorrect conclusions that were thankfully whisked away as I continued my post-graduate scholarly studies. I reccomend a hearty dose of non-fiction reading, and a keen, but critical eye to the news for any intelligent youth that wishes to broaden their mind.
