All right, I know where this is going to go. I'm going to say' yeah, 3 dogs'. You'll reply something along the lines of "Wouldn't you be pissed if they were Murdered?'. And my reply would be '...Not really. I may enjoy having my dogs for companions when I'm alone, but getting pissed over an animal dying is stupid.'
Now that that is clear, I do love my dogs, but already have had 3 previous ones stolen/died of cancer/ died of natural causes and I was like 'Meh, shit happens.'. So there we go.

Well, IMO, they did nothing wrong besides the few Stonebro insults which I'm not fond of myself. They have their opinions as well, and they can share them. That said, you were acting a little out of line if I do say myself, but I do support both sides. You my friend, need some vodka or something. =)

That's not really the issue. The issue is people not being able to see how extreme and unwarranted violence against a defenceless creature is wrong and how people deserve to be punished for such acts.
This isn't the dark ages, we're perfectly capable of prosecuting both those who hurt people and those who hurt animals. It's not one or the other like some people in this thread seem to think.

Well, to be honest, I don't give a shit about animal cruelty since it is no worse than us feeding cattle growth hormones and slaughtering them for fast food and cheap barbecue...which reminds me that since it is raining I have to reheat some old brisket up.

If he would have just killed the cat, it wouldn't have been in the news. It's the suffering that this animal had to go through for days locked up in pain, which makes it plain outrageous. And this is the point everybody's missing who's claiming "it's just a cat" ....

Sucks to be your pets, I guess. If someone did that to my dog, and I knew who he was... I can pretty much guarantee that one of us would do time in prison, and it probably wouldn't be him. And that's not something I say lightly. When my last dog died, I mourned like I had lost my best friend. If someone had hurt him in such a cruel way, and the legal system was powerless, I would definitely not have behaved like a rational human being.

I have read several times that being abusive to animals is a very good sign that you will also be abusive to humans.
More on topic, I can understand that such animal cruelty is relatively minor when compared to the human-on-human violence that occurs daily.
It is still something we should try and prevent, as well as punishing those who commit such acts.
As bad as we are, as a species, we do have the capacity to be much better. If we don't, then we will surely destroy ourselves. Some may say we are trying our best to already with man-made climate change.

Great point, +1 for the comeback. But honestly, what do you think is more news worthy: A dog being used for a fight pit or a baby found dead in a cooler?
