No , please. You elaborate. You state the PC has the widest selection of games and the most exclusives. I want documented proof for that. As for the Final Fantasy games, I just told plain and simple, name me a Final Fantasy on PC that is not an MMO or almost 20 years old. Guess what? There is none. The counter stops at 7, which btw is just a recent port.
As for my facts, I checked them, the PC is a weak medium for Action Adventure games. Used to be decent, it is not anymore. Weak ports that have the controls aimed at controller, clunky optimization, and are almost never DRM free. This is the modern AAA action adventure title for PC. And please, it's common knowledge the action adventure genre was designed for consoles. It's been like this since the 90s. You wanted platformers, RPGs, and action adventure games? You went with consoles. You wanted FPSs, strategy games, and racing, you went with PC.
You wanted fighter games? A trip to the arcade.

Actually, a lot of RPGs have been PC only -- Planescape: Torment, VTMB, Ultima 7,....

First off I admit I mostly play on my PC. Secondly I prefer Playstation over Xbox mainly because my 360 keeps getting RRoD even after I fix it so I'm just fed up (I know I'm just unlucky and many people have no issues).

- FPS games I prefer on PC, I just plain suck at them on PC but I'm even worse on console.

- Racing games I actually prefer on consoles, I don't know why.

- RPG kinda depends, Dragon Age and Mass Effect I enjoy most on the console but games like Diablo and similar ones I prefer on PC although people say Diablo is really good on consoles.

- Sports I don't really have a preference here, I just hook up my joypad to the PC and play on PC or I just play on console, either way is fine. I live in northern Sweden, everyone loves hockey up here so naturally I play the NHL games, every single one since 1994 and for that I must have a console since they don't release NHL series on PC anymore.

- Simulators, Sims like ones, Spore, Sim City I play on PC, not sure why. It wasn't until I started writing this post that I even realised I keep playing them on PC.

- Adventure games, pretty much the same here, it just happens that I play them more on PC than on consoles.

- Platformers I prefer consoles.

I know that enjoying Mass Effect on consoles instead of PC goes against my shooter preferences but that one I can't explain but hey no one is perfect, eh?

I also notice that I play way to much on PC but I enjoy consoles just as much.

JRPGs vs WRPGs vs ARPGs.

The only time I almost defected from PC to consoles was in 1997 due to a bunch of very awesome Playstation 1 games but then I bought myself a Pentium 200 MMX with a 3Dfx card and never looked back since. Sega Dreamcast impressed me with its smooth graphics but the whole Sony vs Sega thing turned me away from consoles, why pick sides when I could stay with a flexible and highly modifiable platform such as the PC (LAN, modding, editing etc etc).

EDIT: I am a fan of portable consoles like the NDS and PSP though, only have an old NDS but it's so much more convenient than hauling around a laptop when you're out and about. Hardly ever play games though when I'm out and about.

True, there are very few JRPGs that are PC only... Septerra Core, Anachronox and.... not much else.

Anyways - PC has access to same controllers as any console. So if say the camera has trouble - then you bet that trouble is in the original console version as well. As it happens to be alot of this things are "OK" on consoles, but when the master race rates them - they get bashed. For reason. That doesnt mean that the controls are worse than on consoles though (as long as you use the controller ofcourse).

Also on performance - if you have that 30fps on console - its normal, no one complains. On pc if you get 30fps - you bet there are alot of complaining going alone. However in that case the situation is the same - master race is just used to higher standard.

Well modern PC has them all, so while war may never change - gaming does. PC has had ALOT of platformers recently. Theres never been shortage on RPG's nor adventure games so i have no idea what youre talking about there.

Action games? Not sure what you mean by action games exactly. There didnt use to be many arcade sort of games, but the indie retro surge has filled that in past years.

Really, these day PC gaming is stronger than ever before.

But even a toaster can run these games at this point. Well, at least most people to have a cheap PC/notebook at home.
I don't really consider Anachronox to be a JRPG, but that's just me.

I think you missed the "that's not 20 years old" part.

Just like we can pirate GOG and Steam games and fuck it. Emulators are illegal if you don't own the original game, console and extract the BIOS yourself. We are not talking about illegal methods here. And even, then, well, good luck emulating Final Fantasy XIII.


Then, please, show me one physical console game that has DRM (excluding multiplayer-only titles for obvious reasons).

Same goes for consoles. I don't know about the Xbox One and the PS4, but the Xbox 360 and the PS3 did support keyboard and mouse. The Xbox 360 needed a third-party periphal, but the PS3 had keyboard and mouse support out of the box (even though you still need a third-party device for some games).

Is the lack of keyboard and mouse a problem? Well, there's the solution.

The frames per second issue is not objective by any means. SOme people feel comfortable with 20 frames, others only feel comfortable with 60+ and there are gamers who want more than that and buy a shitty TN panel with 120Hz. Different tastes. I'd rather not sacrifice image quality, 30 frames per second is good enough for me.

And even then, most PC "Master Race" elitists that brag about the awesome frames per second and GRAPHIX they can achieve don't even have a PC capable of running modern games with the settings set to maximum at 60 frames. Good luck playing Battlefield 4, Metro Last Light and COD Ghosts without a beast of a PC (just to give you an example, Digital Foundry did a performance analysis on COD Ghosts and even their test PC equipped with a GTX Titan couldn't run the game at 60 frames per second and all setings set to maximum).

I think he meant games like DMC, Ninja Gaiden, Bayonetta, Vanquish games that usually don't come out on PCs.
