Thank you very much for the thorough, informative and honest opinion of the game. It is disappointing though that most of the reviewers were right about the story being quite mediocre. It is one of those things that are really important to my personal enjoyment of a game, it does not mean that I will not play the game, it just won't be any time soon probably.

I personally despise and loathe this game. I also have a newfound hatred for showing hands and canned hand animations (with locked camera) in any first-person game, for the rest of time. So in this one way, Thi4f/Thiaf has had an impact on me as a gamer. Thanks Thiaf.

Bank Heist is now DLC. No surprise, but I think the preorder tactics lead users to believe it wouldn't be obtainable unless you preordered.

It all usually also comes out in the Complete/Ultimate edition later on for most games as well, hence the reason I am waiting for a complete edition of Batman: Arkham Origins. :)

This and other reviews let me think: "The wrong people made a wrong game". Point.

Just started playing this, got it in the Amazon sale. Am I weird for digging it quite a bit?
Yes it is simplified compared to the originals but whatever, every game is, you have to take things on their own merits. It looks great and the sneaking is pretty well done. Master difficulty seems pretty challenging, they notice you from really far away and it forces you to ghost civilians. Lots of hidden loot to find, lots of replayability.
I dunno, I'm enjoying it. Not nearly as much as Dishonored, but enjoying it.

I'm sorry, but Batman has become so overrated its tiring. And I grew up with and loved the Animated Series, Batman Beyond, etc.
And I am also getting tired that, "Batman is more relatable because he has no powers and his parents died"
To counter that "more relatable because he has no powers " part let me show you this:
http://batman.wikia.com/wiki/Batman#Powers_and_Abilities
The Polymath part its what gets to me and also the fact that he is a multi-trillionaire something even the richest companies could never reach hell Batman could even buyout and shut down Monsanto. Relatable my ass. He mabye human and mortal but there is a reason peoplr these days refer to him as "the goddamn Batman" because he does things that even normal people would never hope to do in thier lifetime.
Also the parents dying bit yeah Superman lost his whole planet and people :P
(I just had to get this out of my system)

After having completed the game recently, my final verdict is: eh, it's mediocre overall. Not terrible, but not particularly inspiring either.

I'm looking for some help. Spoilers to follow. (I'll also offer some).
In Moira, I'm trying to kill or knockout 12 for the challenge. Having played this mission 3 times (on 2 different difficulties), I get 11 each time (3 inmates and 8 freaks). I'm only short 2 pieces of loot which is better than any of the walkthrough's I've seen. I've found all 6 unique loot and have run circles through the entire place multiple times. Any ideas on how to get the 12th mob?
I'm starting to think this is a bug or a super secret, hidden puzzle as all of the walkthroughs are mentioning 3 inmates and 8 freaks as well. Any ideas?
Hints for those playing:
Look through the peep holes (loot will spawn in a couple of places only AFTER you look through the peep hole).
The trophy for finding all secrets is NOT finding the secrets that play a sound OR finding all unique loot. (this is a fairly hidden objective and seems to require finding all of the "Pocket Portraits" which is just standard loot. You can find 2 in the vents in the mens ward (above the rooms) to get an idea of what to look for. There are 5 in total.
If you want to find all the documents, make sure to go back out into the lobby after visiting the wards. I was 41/42 and finally found this on a replay... someone comes behind you and leaves a document ;)

Is it a genre-defining moment like T:TDP? Of course not. It's the 4th rendition in a line, a reboot for modern audiences. Is a fun sneaking, loot-grabbing, not-at-all-like-Batman game? Yes.
I've heard a lot of talk about how this isn't Garret. News flash. Garret was from a game with lots of options. I've played Garret as a sneaky super-thief who was never seen. I've played him as a psychopath who kills for the pleasure of it (even knocking people out when stealth is needed, and then taking them to a pool of water and drowning them). Garret is a multitude of possible characters. This game is a little narrower in its definition of Garret, but also gives the player a lot of choices.

stg83: I just meant comparing this NuGarret to Batman is insulting for him. Well if you really look at it then Batman is no more relateable then any other super hero. Especially in the current climate of 99% vs the 1%, Bruce Wayne would be the most reviled man in Gotham. Also ofcourse we all know that billionaires in the real don't give a crap about common people comparatively Iron Man is closer to how billionaires behave, as he is still an egotistical prick most of the time. But, Batman is still my favorite superhero. ;)
My brother hates Iron Man probably for the same reason :)
