eVinceW21: ArPeeGees need moar stealth/magic hybrid classes/character builds. I remember some of Oblivion's pre-built classes were these cool looking mage rogues (I think one was called Spellblade) that I never got to play because Oblivion sucks monkey dookie. But I liked the idea. Unfortunately, Skyrim doesn't lend itself well to established character builds since character advancement is so loose in that game and magic is broken, but I always thought RPGs need moar mage rogues. They're a class hybrid that you never see for some reason.
It just strikes me as badass to play a stealthy infiltrater type who uses charm spells and illusions and enchantments to fuddle enemies, float, walk on water, levitate, disappear and other cool stuff. I'd distance the build from any manner of more direct combat like melee, archery or destruction magic to put the focus on evasion and distraction rather than brute force or elimination. But a squishy build would make getting caught mean getting killed, so you would have to employ your magical arsenal creatively in order to prevail.
you can play mage rogues in Skyrim. I've got one at level 30 now. In Illusion there is a "silent cast" perk you can get. sneak, sneak, fireball fireball. literally all the builds you could have in Oblivion (which was awesome by the way ;) ) are possible in Skyrim. You just have to make sure YOU stick with that build. The only thing they don't have is an outright hand to hand, but heavy armor allows you to make the build.
