The wiiviewer can count sometimes when he reviews bad games but he can screw up and can make them look good. He isn't that great when it comes to reviewing god games ether.

Daedolon: The whole deal with Yahtzee is way too childish for me to appreciate: Finding the obvious flaws in great games like System Shock 2 and Silent Hill 2 that anyone with half a brain can spot, then just over-exaggerating them like they're the end of the world and make the games terrible, which they are not.
Ripping of games that hardly deserve it is not fun, it's rather painful to watch instead.

That is the point of it. If you see it as a genuine review, then you missed the point completely.

TheCheese33: The AVGN seems pander in similar ways. In some of his reviews, he isn't even creative with his swears. It's like a Do-It-Yourself-Angry-Review: Combine the words "fuck" and "shit" with other phrases. Done.

Daedolon: He has all the right to do so, it's his style and he was pretty much the first one to come up with that.

Of course he is, but sometimes following to the formula too strictly can result in bad quality.
Red Letter Media is the best

The whole idea is that they are not reviews, per se. He IS doing stuff in his videos that proper reviews do but anyone should see it's all just for the laughs, assuming that's your thing.

He has actually gotten away from his preset "formula" and has recently done more reviews that are easier and faster for him to put out and most of them honestly don't even compare to his Friday the 13th/Nightmare on Elm Street/Power Glove trilogy.

RSHabroptilus: I agree with the many who think Rolfe's material's made a huge dip in quality. He obviously isn't a very good writer, isn't so hot at coming up with original jokes, isn't so hot at editing or film-making, and isn't very knowledgeable about what he's reviewing beyond what an obsessed kid would know. Doesn't mean he's a douche, just sloppy, not putting the extra effort into what he's doing.
Spoony's the opposite, and NC's pretty close.
(Although I will say, Spoony's LP of Ripper got pretty stale. It was simply a retread, reusing the jokes he made Internet famous in his earlier videos, providing next to no new material.)
I don't pay a lot of attention to Yahtzee. Not bad, but nothing memorable, nor creative (liked his little Deus Ex ditty, tho). I've heard him on the radio a couple times, too, and he always seems to make a complete ass out of himself, really pretentious and arrogant, while not really knowing what he's talking about.
I'm going to toss in that I'm a bit drunk to hide behind and excuse anything stupid I just said.

Yahtzee comes off as an arrogant prick all the time. Like he is some all knowing authority on what's good and whats not on videogames. And he too resorts to foul explicit crude jokes like AVGN does, I dont find either's crudeness too different. Yahtzee only speeds up the tempo.
Yahtzee is kind of like a sardonic Robin Williams. They both throw a bunch of jokes at you really fast and you kind of get dazzled by the speed of it and laugh as though it were very witty, but when you look back on it, there were hardly any real stand out jokes worth repeating. It's like a magic trick or something.
Not that I don't like Yahtzee. I do. I just someimes feel like he comedically pulls a fast one on me.

What a great comparison to another trite unfunny imitation of a comedian!

TheCheese33: he doesn't dress up in costumes or make weird voices often.

Daedolon: I thought that was the only thing he did, noises, I mean.

nah, that's just british :p
I liked AVGN, but I think spoony's reviews are (a lot) better. And he has walkthroughs/playthroughs that take FIVE HOURS.

There is only one joke that he ever used that actually made me smile because it came out of left field and broke from his usual high-speed jabbering.
"Short answer, no. Long answer, noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo."

Those 3 guys boppin' away in front of the S+M Club has got to be the most pointless, funniest, WTF-moment I've ever seen in a game. The guys alone are hilarious but Spoony singing "What is looove!!" cracks me up every time.
