The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director’s Cut on sale for $4.99!

I don’t know if you heard about it, but there’s a little game that got updated today. Witcher 2? We’ve tried to be discreet about it, but we also thought that updating an award-winning RPG like the Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings to its definitive Enhanced Edition deserved a little something extra to celebrate it.

So here it is: if you haven’t played the award-winning first game in the series (this franchise has a lot of awards!), this is a fantastic chance for you to pick up it up for less than a meal at your local burger joint! With more than 60 hours of gaming goodness, you have a great chance to pick up The Witcher: Enhanced Edition and experience the labrythine plots that got the franchise started right now!

If you haven’t tried The Witcher: Enhanced Edition out yet, let’s briefly tell you what to expect; you’re a monster-killing, butt-kicking, sword-wielding Witcher, a man named Geralt, and you don’t muck around. This action RPG has an engrossing story, solid graphics, excellent music, challenging gameplay, and nail-biting tension. If you’re a fan of RPGs, this is definitely one of the best produced in recent years, and is worth checking out.

From now until 17:59 New York (that's EDT) time on the 23rd of April, you can pick up this marvel of a game for just $4.99. What are you waiting for? Geralt--and adventure--awaits!

Lexor: I think GOG should normalize their time to one time zone :D There were infos in GMT, now in EDT.. confusing :)

adambiser: The need a count down counter. :)
Or the extra time tag which transforms the time to the one chosen by you. ;) Could be done, really.

That would be good also. Either way, referencing about 4 different timezones gets a bit confusing after awhile, even before throwing in Daylight Saving Time and whether or not America and/or Europe is currently observing it. (The last part isn't much of a problem at the moment, but will be in a few months.)
Just throwing this here, as a friend stated how such a pity it wasn't, but is GOG planning on hosting MAC versions of games?

deonast: Yep I think they should stick with GMT makes it a lot easier for most people to understand, you just add your time zone offset to get your local time. Sydney GMT+12. I guess it makes it harder for American? (I guess the assumption is they can't do the math or have never heard of GMT) Any Americans don't take offense, ask for the time in GMT too, and show you some stereotypes are not true :)
As an American I take no offense. It's just that GMT is not used over here, ever, for anything. It's just like people who get confused when asked to convert weight from the measurment they use to another, be it kilograms, pounds or stone.

The only time zone that really confuses me is American Central. The continental US has 4 time zones, how do you get "central"?
Umm... I use GMT all the time. Then again, I also read 24 hour time, use the dd/mm/yyyy format, and use the metric system, because, you know, it's 2012, and they make more sense, among other reasons.

I'm more than fine with using GMT. It always annoys me when a websites time system uses some other time zone system. It's -7:00 GMT where I live, I just subtract seven hours. Couldn't be easier.

As for The Witcher: Enhanced Edition, if you can afford to buy it and have not done so yet, there is probably something very, very wrong with you.
Is the GOG version censored?

No.
And this is why we love you GOG.

Really we need an international standard that everyone can agree to maybe GST (Global Standard Time) however that wouldn't go down well in Australia where GST is an abbreviation for a tax.

You mean like UTC?

The Swatch Internet Time wasn't a bad idea; I just think they launched it a bit too early, as use of the internet wasn't quite as widespread back in 1998, and so it's mostly forgotten today. The concept is pretty solid, though.

Interesting Idea, I vaguely remember hearing something about this years ago. I guess on one of the problems there is only one main company pushing it. I be Omega, Citizen etc didn't want a thing to do with it. :)

I must be tired how could I forget about UTC, especially considering I work on IT. Though used more often on Unix and appliances side of things. Certainly less apparent on windows desktops (well XP anyway, mine has GMT for the times, though that could be a side effect of my Australian region settings). I'd assume US Windows PCs show it in their US equivalents, eg EDT. Or maybe I'm wrong.

Yeah, that was probably a factor too. Still, it would be a nice standard to have, I just have no idea how it could be pushed forward. If GOG started announcing stuff would happen at @650, everyone would probably just go "huh?"
One of the best game ever!
