Because there's one big problem with The Witcher: EE on Impulse: Availability:
North America (US, Canada and Mexico)

On Impulse it's available for North America only, while on Steam it's available for North America, Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Croatia, Estonia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, and Ukraine.
For us west Europeans I think the only option is retail, but personally I don't mind, considering the amount of nice goodies included and assuming Atari didn't add any DRM surprise to the pack (can anyone confirm maybe?). Plus for narrative oriented games I prefer physical items, can't say why.
I really appreciate the decision to have multiple languages on all editions, I'm looking ahead to play it with Polish VO and English or Italian subs!

I'm preordered the box today. Was even more keen for it after looking on the site and seeing all the stuff in the box.
Not that i was gonna buy it on Steam, but its not available over here in NZ, which is pretty unfortunate. Only way to go is retail (Which is a stupidly low price ($80) for what you get in there)

I simply like Steam and prefer to have my FULLY legal copy.
I won't talk about how I prefer one platform (well, in a sense I do, I don't buy many retail copies). If Impulse will show/publish something interesting, I will consider it as my another source of games. Right now, I keep checking it, but it's no too convincing so far.

I can't wait to play, I have already the Witcher, and I'm waiting for months the new version.
and the time is near finally.

i own the uk collectors edition of the original and i've already pre-ordered the retail release of EE, i guess i'm a collector (one of the reason why i still prefer to get boxed versions rather then download) but still, i cant wait.

So, finally, will the Steam version of TWEE be available worldwide or only on North America and Eastern Europe?.
There's quite a debate on Steam's forums, and we would like to hear an official answer from the CD Projekt guys (seeing as the Steam guys aren't answering themselves...).

Do you all know that in Poland we have a boxed version of the enhanced edition that contains only enhanced content (whitout the main game) for ridiculously low price (20zl / 5euro)? :) You can simply put your game in the enhanced box and you have the enhanced version on your shelf very cheaply. :) However I'll be probably downloading the whole content.

So there is one worldwide final master or special verison for US and RoW? Does the installation software recognize version of OS and then chooses censored/non-censored version? I just wanna be ensured that version I will buy will not be censored (even it's not big deal).
And one more question: what about DRM? There will ne no DRM in Impulse version - thats a big +. There will be classic simple DRM in Steam verison I guess. And in retail version? Which DRM choosed CD Projekt for Middle/Eastern Europe and which will be in Atari's versions?

Smart move. Does it work? just changing? Do you change back to your origninal setting after purchase afterwards or do you just leave it be?
