Weylund: Seriously? This was boring to you? How does this not entirely encompass every gamer's secret fantasy life?

Yes. I'm not saying that it's a bad game. It's extremly mediocre game. The story sucked (never liked Sapkowki's works), but I've only player the first act. If later in the game it develops into something interesting (or even worth mentioning) , then I'd would have to take it back. Unfortunatly, the gameplay was so extremly boring, that I just can't care about it. Point the coursor, pause, chose figting mode, click, wait, click, wait, click (...) wake up, click, wait, click. Old C-64 porn games, where everything you had to do was to throw the joystick to left and right was much more rewarding.
But still. It's much better than the movie. But everything is better than it. I guest, the Boll's version (which will hopefully be made. Can't stop loving that guy) will be much better.
And I still consider Electro Body to be the best polish game ever created. Probably that's becouse I haven't played in like 10 years or more, but it was just so cool.
The sad part is the fact, that I can't consider most modern games to be good. Crysis was extremely bad (after the first 15 minutes of "cool, let's kill another tree"), Stranglehold was fun, but repetetive and shallow, Assasin's Creed started being very bad after the first city, Bioshock is nothing compare to System Shock 2 etc. It's not much better on the consoles: I coun't care about Gears of War after I've learned how to play it and MGS has bad gameplay.
I'm waiting for it, because at the moment the game is horrible, I got to the third act and got fed up with the horrible dialogue, immature use of sex (I have no problem with sex in anything, it's just the way it's done breaks the flow), and constant crashing. I've tried everything to try and get it to stop crashing, but nothing works.
I have no doubt that I will enjoy this game more with the enhanced edition, so I am looking forward to it.
Oooh, Witcher... I love books and I love the game. Great characters, great story... But it's too bad it has so many technical flaws. If enhanced edition will solve everything to my full satisfaction, this may get to my Best Games of All Times list: Fallout, Morrowind and System Shock resides there now. But it's really too much flawed now...
Anyway, great work, CD-Project! I want to see that kind of attitude towards customer among all publishers out there. Especially EA.
Stopped playing The Witcher and Two Worlds as soon as I heard about the enhancements! You might want to google CD Projekt and be surprised who they are - I am sure you will be surprised how much you didn't know about them!

Hmm. I loved the stories. A lot. If you didn't like the stories I could see the game being mediocre for you. Just seeing the stuff from the stories was incredibly fun for me.
Many modern games aren't all that much exciting for me, though, either. I get into many of them primarily for the modding opportunities.
I'll have to check out Electro Body!
Do you actually like Uwe Boll, or was that sarcasm?

Weylund: I'll have to check out Electro Body!

Don't do it :)
It's an old, slow platformer. Not worth playing after all those years. But then I could compere it to Duke Nukem II. Today it would probably suck big time.

Yes. He has some extremely huge balls. Everybody hates him, and he makes great buisness out of it. And his movies aren't that worse from... let's say Bay. Except Postal and Seed. Those are two are realy decent.
I'll DL the Witcher upgrade patch to EE when as soon as it comes out.
I'll likely buy Witcher: Upgrade Box when it comes out or Witcher: EE Full when it gets cheaper for all the extras.
I have never played this but am getting the EE. Any company that is good to its customers and releases stuff like this for free deserves my money. Anyways I have had a craving for an rpg lately :P. Gonna go preorder this on the weekend.
I'm not buying it because I already own it and if you own it you get it for free.
I bought the game the day it came out and haven't bothered to play it - for all the reasons the Enhanced Edition is coming out. I sent them a long email the day I first played it about the horrible translation among other things. Because they did so much work for the Enhanced Edition, I wouldn't feel right just downloading the patch; I'm going to buy the game again to support their efforts. Good developers are hard to come by.

I got The Witcher for Christmas and was pretty much addicted to it until I finished it. I'm probably going to buy the EE instead of just downloading it for the extras and since it's a great game.
i gave the witcher a lot of leeway. the translation was rough and almost constantly worked to undo itself, but i worked through it. i had gotten a third through when the EE was announced. put the box on the shelf that afternoon.
even with the translation of the original edition, i loved the fact that the game presented me with a series of ethical questions, even in that first village, that made me actually react viscerally to the action on-screen. developers making the player FEEL either way about a game situation affecting game characters is a rare thing.
(disclaimer: i'm a fan of novelists like james ellroy - who write stories where all of the characters are ethically compromised in some way.)
i loved the witcher for inhabiting a similar narrative grey area. where "goodness" was often only a glimpse, rather than some lofty ideal the characters wore on their sleeves.
i'm still looking forward to the EE.

This is amonst the best RPGs I have ever played and one of the only ones that I have played through 3 times. Story id great, combat is excellent (just need to get used to it) and the graphics on my computer are above par. Just a great game period.
Now it is not without flaws as pointed out in earlier replies like especially the loading time between Zones and Buildings and the limited space in your inventory. Hopefully these things will be fixed in the new Enhance Edition which legal owners will get for free via Download.
Now if only we could remove the damn North American Censorship and get what our Europeans Friends have been enjoying all along.....
And even though I already own the original copy I will be buying the Enhance Edition just to top up my collection of RPGs.............................Now does anyone now if our old saved games will be compatible with the Enhance Edition?
Thanks in advance gang!

I purchased the European version from the US. Works fine and is uncensored.
is there a way to play The Witcher with the original Polish speech and English subtitles?
