So, what kind of game is The Witcher like? Is it one of those 3rd-person action/RPGs like KOTOR, or is it more arcadey, like The Force Unleashed?

The Witcher is much more RPG than Action game (you just use your mouse for combats).

Witcher's something in between adventure and RPG with a wee little bit of action :D All right, SOME action is present, but I don't really like those parts... Even though I like fighting system
Is it just me or are Witchers medieval drug taking Jedi Knights?
And I stole this quote from a mate. I'm only owning up because I also just told him about this site and he might recognise it :p

Witchers have their own, sophisticated fighting style, as described in book, which has nothing in common with 'hey, let's hit each other's sword for a while'-kind of Jedi knight style, there's no 'witcher's codex' (yes, Witchers are talking about their codex in book, but it's just to fool someone), as opposition to 'good-doers' Jedi knights... And Witchers aren't 'good' guys in overral, they just... Are.
So, in the end, the only common thing is that both Jedi and Witchers can deflect ranged attacks...

You also missed the fact they're both Badasses.
Karl
Oh yeah, and they are both badasses

Greylord: I don't like to be left behind while other countries get the game :(.

Nobody likes:( It a great pity for us too. We do everything not to leave anyone behind. But still we're not 100% successful. And we really well understand it, here in Poland many years all games were coming out later than in most of the countries. So we know this pain...
If I get new info I'll share maybe something changed

Congratulations! Your success is well deserved :)
"Scientific research has proven that those sales numbers are quite good for a debut game based on a relatively unfamiliar IP from an unknown studio on a “dead” platform."

Well done guys. It must be nice to show the big guns how it's done and to do with with such brilliance. Kudos to you all.

great... I was TRYING to avoid getting my life sucked into another RPG, but from reading this thread looks I'll have to scrounge up my meager student funds and get this one too... right after I finish fallout 3.
Sigh.
I guess I'll Steam it.
EAX patch released. Thanks for this, I am waiting for this patch. I will try it when the patch comes to Steam. :)

get the pc download
So, finally bought TW:EE, looking forward to playing it (in part thanks to my brother, having played through the pirated version, raving about its awesomeness). Ended up importing it from the UK because a) had I bought it locally, I would've needed to do a bit of running around to get the map that's supposed to be included already and b) it's 5$ cheaper that way.

pkt-zer0: So, finally bought TW:EE (...)

Me too, despite already owning the first release. It was 79.90zł (around 19€) here in Poland, with the overall of 5 dvds (game, bonus content, videos, soundtrack and music), with the manual, game guide and the Witcher short story. Deal of the year for me :)
