So in case you haven't already heard, there's a Witcher remake for the console coming out which will apparently be an improved version of the PC game

I was going to get the game soon as I hadn't played it yet, but now I'm torn about waiting for the console upgraded version for my Ps3 (assuming its coming out for all systems)... what do you guys think? Worth waiting for or should I just get it for PC anyway (keep in mind I'm poor and can't do both, piracy excluded from conversation please)
Eh, screw that, get a PC version : ).
But yeah, the console one will probably have better graphics. But I could not play such an awesome game on a console....it's a PC game through and through.
I just literally two hours ago ordered the EE version, eventhough I have the original....it is simply worth it.Gotta support the good devs : ).
Go with the PC version. You don't need better graphics in a game with a story like that :)
PC version forever.
It kicks too much ass for consoles.

yea, i always favor PC if its a toss-up, the only thing tempting me this time is the added content and tweaked combat systems

ilves: tweaked combat systems

Tweaked, so you can play with a pad instead of mouse :> That's not much of a tweak to me ;)

From the article...
"We've completely redesigned the combat system to be more in-line with players' expectations on consoles. We've gone back and motion-captured a lot more combat animations for the new combat actions, like parries, counter-attacks, enhanced evasion, special attacks, etc. "
sounds like they've actually added combat functions that weren't there, but then again I haven't played it yet so I don't know if all that is already in the game.
Well, we don't know how much of that is marketing talk : ).
Combat looks absolutely awesome in PC version already....
What I would recommend is, get EE PC version now, play it, love it, and later when it comes to consoles buy it again and play a different version : ).Trust me, you will want to play it more than once anyway..........

ilves: what do you guys think?
I'm in the same situation. I've decided to see how the console version progresses, since they've mentioned changes to the combat system amon others. When I've seen enough of the (hopefully) Xbox 360 version, I'll make a choice.
I'm not bothered about the graphics or DLC, I just want to know which version I'll prefer. But I wouldn't put it past me to buy both the console version, then the EE, heh.
I've played the PC version on Metaboli (a service where I think DRM actually makes sense, because they actually offer some added value in return for you putting up with the protection: You lend games from them for the duration of your membership, which is one month only and doesn't do some pesky auto-renewal. The protection is also relatively transparent and done through an emulated CD-drive using encrypted images... meaning that it works well, but only if you're online. Only drawback for me was that these folks don't have a clue about privacy and security, meaning that the browser-integrated frontend spits out way too much information to untrusted websites... I don't think that's intentional, but still...) and it is a good game on PC already. You don't have to wait for the console version if you don't want to (unlike Alone in the Dark).
Anyway, in the past I would have said "get the PC version" no matter what, but after actually seeing some good ports which actually got better on consoles (Overlord comes to mind), I'm not sure. The PC version had a few problems (mainly the engine didn't scale too well and while some scenes were smooth as a baby's bottom, others rendered at sometimes less than 5 fps on my PC) and if they solve that and add a good control scheme (I'm not saying the PC version scheme is bad, but it wouldn't fit on a gamepad), the console version might actually be more enjoyable. But that's a lot of speculation and at the end of the day the console version might turn out as complete rubbish.
If you're in a hurry: Get the PC version. It's good enough.
If you don't mind waiting at all: Wait for the console version to arrive and buy whichever one you like best.

Yes. That ass.
That, and the story...characters...adventuring....
It's too much for "HARDCOR3" consolez.
I am disappointed with the gameplay, perhaps I should have looked around before buying, I just got so into CDProjeckt and all that I guess I kind of decided to take peoples word that it was a fantastic game, instead of doing actual research to find out that a key mechanic to me, wasn't so key to CDProjeckt. I value what they've done, it's remarkable, but at the same time I'm not 100% happy with the purchase either.
already have the original pc collectors edition and the enhanced edition, will be purchasing the console editions aswell (360 and ps3)

I don't understand the joke, could somebody please explain? Do you think that the graphics are too demanding for consoles? Or the game too violent? Or the story too complex? What do you mean by "HARDCOR3"? And who or what is?
