walt0r: I heard The Witcher 4 is coming in 2017? Anyone can confirm that?
If it is, it will be on pre-sale in January knowing CDPR.

Cyraxpt: Lol, The Witcher 3 isn't even out and they're also working in Cyberpunk 2077, i SERIOUSLY doubt it.
avatar
joriandrake: actually, not impossible, just highly unlikely

Witcher is their main source of income so they will prioritize the franchise, and Bioware also worked on ME 2 and 3 at the same time as on DA 2 and + and their Star Wars MMO. Of course the team behind Witcher is much smaller and not corrupted/backed by EA.
I didn't say impossible, i said that i seriously doubt it for the reasons that you pointed out, besides, they're already working in two games at the same time, The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 (well, and that card game).

I would say that they will release some dlc for The Witcher late 2015 and early 2016 and Cyberpunk will be released in somewhere in 2016 (perhaps early 2017), The Witcher 4 would fit 2018.

What makes me think this news is likely, perhaps even the early release date, is that the team may just use the same engine as in WItcher 3, and with the existing data they can cut the development time by a great amount.

edit: I think its a good idea to drop this interesting article now

Lol, no. They'll be busy with Cyberpunk for a long time.

News? This was some random person dropping the question and didn't come back, for all we know it was a friend in school "with an uncle that works on CD Project Red" telling him/her that, lol.

Anyway, they won't talk about The Witcher 4 until the 3rd comes out so the answer for now is "no one knows besides CDPR".
During official interview, Adam Kiciński - boss of CDProjekt said that IF they will ever do Witcher 4, it won't be continuation of the current story. He didn't confirm works on it though. But he added that after creating such a world wide known brand, they surely want to use it in further projects.

that is hardly an indication that there will be a witcher 4 any time soon

and without cd projekt red outright coming forth and saying we wil be doing the witcher 4 and this is when its coming out its all speculation and hearsay

witcher 3 isnt even released yet

and i cant see the witcher 4 coming any sooner then 2019
You guys should hope that CDPR gets bought out by Ubisoft; there'll be two or three Witcher games per year! Oh, and I'm sure there will be a Witcher 2077 sooner or later (and no, that not a Witcher/Cyberpunk crossover :P)
lol love the responses, but what can you expect when people start talking about the next title - when the actual next tile is not out yet... If the quality of the previous games is anything to go by - one can be assured that there will be a 4th one.
