Episode 2 is out now. My, what an improvement. Though i don't know anything about the TV series or comic, horror movie fans might like it.

I'm not gonna spoil anything but BEWARE THIS SECOND EPISODE IS NOT FOR PEOPLE WITH WEAK STOMACH. It's more brutal and terrifying than the first one. Even first 15 minutes of the opening might turn some people off. Don't watch or play it with your family members.

Very nice, first episode already drew me in right at the start. Can't wait to play the 2nd

I need to buy these now, if too many people "wait until they're done" they may never actually get that way.

I've played a bit of the first episode and from what I saw the story is half interesting, but the gameplay seemed really terrible, railroading and QTE, and the game has an unpolished feel to it, with player character walking into and sliding along invisible walls and such. Maybe it gets better later on, I've only played for about 10 minutes and then didn't know how to handle a QTE where I was supposed to wrestle for my life with a zombie. Btw, do the Telltale downloads from their website come with manuals of some kind? I didn't find any and IIRC the game didn't explain what I was supposed to do ... which keys to press etc.

Yeah, it did go trough real quickly and it wasn't that... emotional mostly, even if tried to be. Though, I'm not quite sure what the end is supposed to be like, according to steam achies I didn't even get to the 8th part and got the credits and a sad ending.

Plus, ended on a frikkin cliffhanger.

Not exactly, but it feels like choices didn't changed much. No one did get to the 8th part according to Steam stats. I think that it's bug and this achievement should unlock after finishing the game.

Damn, I was putting off playing this until the last episode was released, kinda wish I hadnt bothered now.

They will most likely make another season. Telltale has voiced interest in making another season, pretty sure they've got the green light, this was their fastest selling game, so I'd assume they are going to cash in on that, plus - this season ended on a cliffhanger.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the second season won't be far away, not to lose hype.

Choice in games is almost always about perception of consequence and difference, rather than games actually being much different. The Witcher 2 is a modern anomaly in that regard.

I would love to see more of this anomaly. It doesn't have to be as big as in TW2, but I like when consequences changes something more than dialogs etc.

Assets are expensive though, and when "perception changes" are done well, like in Fallout New Vegas for example, they tend to be satisfying.

But this game is build around choices and consequences. Also assets doesn't look that expensive - there are no that many polygons etc. So I hope that next game will have better consequences. After all they earned fortune now and they hired so many new employees that they had to move to bigger office.

Well, TWD is more of a visual novel than actual game. And yes, I've seen dozens of japanese visual novels with VAST consequences and very unlinear stories. Of course, they didn't have 3D models and animations, but they had animated cutscenes and full voice acting.
