I've been wondering when someone would grab the chance to do something like this. ;) If you were a top gladiator, it was a good life (for the standards of the time). Famous gladiators were alike to our actual rock-stars, with his own fans and groupies. But a fight could leave you incapacitated, or worst still, if you were badly defeated, there was always the possibility that the public or the authority choose to see you pierced by the winner's weapon.
