The last few days ive been toying with creating this, but my last create a thread for the community fell flat on its arse (my own fault i might add!) so i wasn't sure :P

So I've had this idea to create a thread for saying "thankyou" and with the community here it seems perfect as my fellow gog'ers would appreciate / value something like this.

I was thinking that this can be for those outside of gog moments you just wanted to say thanks to someone / for something. But can also be for gog moments / gog'ers too!

I think in order to encourage the posts for type of moments that I am thinking of its best to leave out specific details such as “thankyou (name) for (reason)” and more a general “thankyou its appreciated”. Sort of a only you know what you are saying thanks for but you need to let the world know you have said thanks (due to it affecting you in some way so that you need to express your thanks for it) as you can’t for whatever reason say it to that person.

It can be for something heavy / or just light as in thanks for the person helping me cross the road or making me smile or something. Thus it’s a really open idea of a thread but I'm throwing in my two pennies as to the idea I had.

So thoughts? Ideas? Thankyous commence.

I'm thankful for a horrible thing that happened recently, because it may actually make things better. That's about all I can comfortably say. :-)

I am thankful I found GOG and began using the forum so I could become a part of this fantastic community. I have learned more about how to use the big www in the 5 months here than anywhere else.

I'd like to thank all the people who put up with me. Seriously. Your patience is most admirable!

I am very thankful that I found GOG and became part of this great community. I truly enjoy all the "characters" that contribute to this great group. I have learned so much about games, other countries ( and their cultures ) and how people deal ( or don't deal, as the case may be ) with each other. I look forward to paying it forward, in the near future, for all the generous people that make up this community.

Thanks to the following :

1. Whoever remotely restored my system (I'm guessing this is what must have happened ?) a few days ago when I accidentally (well, stupidly really) installed Starforce copy protection on it (the offending game disc was GT Legends). Whoever it was saved me a lot of hassle, worry and stress (and possibly money). I think this is possibly the coolest unexpected thing which has ever happened to me on the net. I was truly amazed when my laptop booted up normally after I'd awoken from an alcohol-induced sleep : it was just like magic and I've felt brighter ever since.

2. Gog.com for giving me the opportunity to play many games I would otherwise never have played.

3. Everyone who has given me advice on how to mod games, especially olnorton on the Baldur's Gate forums.

4. Margaret Thatcher for finally dying this year.

5. Sir Alex Ferguson for finally deciding to retire as Manchester United manager (if the rumours are true. I'm a City fan you see).

I'd like to thank all the people here who have answered my questions in the past and all the people who do giveaways.
