Firstly, you just made me feel old.
Secondly, no need to fear living in a hidden camera show, just make sure you are constantly doing things that they're not allowed to show on TV.

Unfortunately for me, the first time I saw The Shining I was already 30 and had seen the episode of Family guy where Stewie meets the two girls and deals with them. I couldn't get scared because I was remembering it and laughing.

Then I suggest neither of you ever watch the TV versions of Ju-on. They make the movies seem like children's shows in comparison.
I don't really have a scariest movie. I love the horror genre and it has never really scared me, slightly unnerved me at times, but not what I would call out and out scared.
I would recommend seeing kairo and honogurai mizu no soko kara, both of which have US remakes IIRC (Pulse* and Dark Water respectively).
* Not to be confused with Pulse (1988) which is also a fairly good "horror-ish" movie.

While it didn't scare me per se, The Thing had one of the most intense scenes in a movie of all time.

I'd say The Grudge and The Excorcist

They're stopped doing REALLY scary movies some years ago. Now zombies are just fucking mainstream puppies instead of a gory and unbearable weirdness.....

Just because i'm 18, does not mean I haven't seen classic horror films.

It's not just a matter of "classics", it's the fact than nowadays monsters are commodities and not, well, monsters. There are no horror stars anymore, just an endless series of horror-alike, pre-made packages ready to be served to anaesthetized consumers.

I wasn't really scared by Shutter, thought it kind of sucked actually.
I really don't get scared by these kind of movies, too.
Maybe IT because I didn't expect the damn clown to have such a creepy voice.

Isn't the UK becoming that in its own right? I remember the "Under the Watchful Eyes..." poster...

My point still stands. I don't see the correlation between my age and if I should be scared of films or not.

I'm a wuss.
1) The Messengers (I think that's the right title) - I guess the least scary, since I finished it.
2) Stephen King's IT - uh uhh...I didn't finish this one.
3) The Exorcism of Emily Rose - when she turned around with a face full of bug bits, I skedaddled and took refuge in Balmora.
4) The Grudge - I didn't get through the menu. On the DVD. I was sitting watching the menu while my dad showered, and left by the time he got back.
5) The Blob - THE ORIGINAL, not the garbage remake. That movie is scary. Really really scary. Scared the pants off me when I was a kid, and when I watch it I still get kinda creeped out. Nothing like a creature that CANNOT be stopped by much of anything, and wants to eat you alive.

hmmm... i remember a danish film called Nattevakten(nightguard/shift)! can't really remember much but it was about some guy getting a job as a security guard in the basement of a hospital where they keep the dead bodies... but it's not a cheesy zombie rip-off or anything.. some interesting plot twists.. :O

Don't really watch many horror movies but I absolutely loved Paranormal Activity.
I slept with the lights on that night.
