Adventure? Point and Click? Detective mystery? Please, count me in!

I think I love adventure games because playing them is like "living" (instead of reading) a good book. Graphic quality doesn't matter, so classic release and new ones are both worth to be played, provided that they have a solid plot and good puzzles.

Meant to say first pc game* think it was around 1993, but before that i started on a vectrex about 29 years ago.

I played Leisure Suit Larry earlier than I should've, and even then, that quiz at the start was hilariously outdated.

I guess it's mostly nostalgia speaking,every game has it's merit,but when I hear point n click I think Indiana Jones and the fate of atlantis,Grim Fandango,and so many more... so many memories.. :)

I don't like point-n-click as much as I used to, because the medium for games has evolved to the extent, where we no longer need the restrictive gameplay and game controls.
It evolved to a more fluid and freeform storytelling compared to yesteryears point-n-click, for sure.

My computers were always a little bit behind the curve, so I was never much of a PC gamer growing up. Still, I loved playing graphical text adventures when I was younger. The first point-n-click game I ever played was Maniac Mansion on the NES. I loved how this new genre felt like an evolution of the graphical text adventure breed. The next point-n-click I played was Police Quest on one of the computers at my middle school. As far as console games went, point-n-click never had much prominence. I probably didn't play another one until The Adventures of Willy Beamish on the Sega CD. Regardless, I loved the genre for harkening back to my old text adventure days. Needless to say, since joining GOG, there are a noticeable amount of point-n-clicks on my shelf now. ^_^

Ohh, another text-adventurer! *_* I loved them to pieces when I was younger (and didn't even know how to type yet!) and I'd replay The Wonderful World of Eamon games today, if I could find them!

O, I'm in.

I guess I like Adventure games because I grew up with them. It was mostly with LucasArts, played most of them back in the day. Monkey Island and LeChuck's Revenge, The Dig, Full Throttle, Grim Fandango (best game evar), Day of the Tentacle, Indiana Jones & Fate of Atlantis, Sam & Max. I also enjoyed Star Trek 25th Anniversary, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Gabriel Knight, Sanitarium, Culpa Innata. In recent years I played other adventure games thanks to GOG like Beneath a Steel Sky, Broken Sword series.

I was purely into Infocom text adventures back in the 80's. I spent uncounted hours in the computer lab after school delving into those digital dungeons. ^_^

I had Planetfall and played it a lot, but it was VERY unforgiving (I died a LOT) and I never did finish it!
