I'm in.

I think the biggest thing about Point and Clicks as a genre is that the possibilities are virtually endless. For example, there is only so much you can do with first-person shooters and as such, they tend to play a lot alike. Granted you may have a novelty here or there, stealth mechanics, unique weapons, but the basic game is the same. Same with platformers, only so much one can do, for the most part.

P&C's can have any sort of story and are only limited by the creativity and imagination of the author. They can be funny, sad, scary. They can be a platform for multiple puzzles and/or slices of life.
Not in but thanks for the giveaway!
I'm tempted, but I will abstain.

Cheers for the giveaway!! :-)
Nice!

edit: In for Momo, thank you.

Not in. Just saying thanks for giveaway!
I like these genre because it is the most versatile in videogames. You want an action game? You can have it. You want a thriller? You can have it. You want horror? Well, you know where I'm going with this. Point & Click is a gameplay system compatible with pretty much every genre (yes, maybe even soccer and fighting xD).

I still remember playing Monkey Island and feeling like I was inside a book. Not reading a book, but actually INSIDE the book. Also with Siberia and Lighthouse, damn, even with Leisure Suit Larry series xD
A good point and click is a joy. There's a lot of flexibility with how puzzles can be handled, and since the nature of the games is more about narrative than action, there's a huge range of stories that can be told.

On the downside, since you aren't manipulating the environment directly - you're moving and manipulating a figure through the landscape, and anything you interact with is done by proxy - there may be limits on how a player can interact with the world; and since there isn't a directed view, salient plot details may have to be indicated or highlighted, lest casual players miss them.

I find I'm much more involved with RPGs, say, than with point and click adventures; but these busy days, when I have a lot of life to juggle, sometimes I am really ready to send my little stand-in around in her or his world with a few clicks on the mouse. An RPG needs my mood to be ready to play.

That being said, badly-constructed point and click adventures make me crazy. CRAZY. I'm looking at you, "A New Beginning."

Count me in, please! And thank you.

Edit: Also, my first-ever game on the computer was King's Quest 3 - back when it was new. My roommate and I bought it together in college, and played it for months.

I'm in! Thanks for the giveaway.

I've liked point & click for the story it tells and for involving the player. I do, however, draw the line at pixel hunting games. There's a line between casual and tedium that's crossed.

Good luck everyone!
Thanks for the giveaway, Benderz ^_^

I'm not in, though. The game looks really nice, but I have many games to play for now, so I'll just wish good luck to all who enter.

( REP+ )
I'm definitely interested, but as I see the names of many generous friends who've entered, I'm going to abstain this time in order to give them a better chance of winning.

Thanks for the great giveaway, and good luck to y'all! :D

Ohh, and now my fingers are itching, but I'm still going to NOT be in for this one. I really do wish y'all luck! :D

Thanks for the extra copy, awalterj!
Not in but +1
Adventure games were my first computer games. (Before they were point and click... because, no mouse.) Somewhere, I still have my original copy of King's Quest on 5.25" floppy, in the plastic IBM, Jr. Games Series plastic case... there was no "I" in the title because there weren't any others in the series yet. :)

Adventure/point-and-click are still my favorite type of computer games. For video games, I tend toward RPGs (Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, etc.), but when I was younger, any Sierra game was a guaranteed purchase in my home. Right now, I'm more fond of the older games, but that's mainly because of the warm fuzzy memories associated with them, and the fact that I've only very recently gotten back into computer gaming. The Blackwell games were a delight, as is Primordia so far, and I'm looking very much forward to wending my way through more.

If nothing else, thank you for letting me, however briefly - because otherwise it'd be pages and pages long - talk about the reasons I love these sorts of games!
