s23021536: If you change your question to : "If you had the opportunity to force any developer by gunpoint to develop a game, what would it be?"
then either:

Warcraft 4 (PC) ,
Mech Commander 3 ,
Outcast 2 ,
isometric Star Wars RPG ,
or a decent Age of Empires sequel.
Actually scratch the last one : I want a decent Empire Earth sequel, with the same vibe as the first one.

6x sigh...

Venhiem: why scratch age of empires? i personally loved aoe2 and lost hours upon hours to it.
Oh I'll only scratch it if I have to choose between that and a proper new Empire Earth. I enjoyed AoE2 too!
I'm a bit leery of coming up with somethng because I get the feeling it'd try too hard to force something to work, turn it into some kludgy piece of crap, and then dirty my memories of some good titles.

But...

Something like Port Royale and I-War2, in the space setting. Give I-War2 some financial trade elements (not too deep), but also an environment where you can choose to engage in the background conflicts or not. Sounds like the X series, but that seemed to go a bit farther into the trade / corporate behemoth thing than I would really like.

I like s23021536's suggestion, too, where you can do some serious tinkering with the risk of royally screwing things up. Combine that with SPAZ, which already has the customizable ship thing and some fun top-down play, and a little bit of Space Rangers with its world that does its own thing whether or not you participate (and also trade and customization). And maybe put it in a world where there is no particular good vs evil battle so you don't feel obligated to save the world.
The God-Emperor of 2 player turn based games exists already.

If i got chance to build a game of my own, id like to do some sort of robowars game where you build and possibly program your own bots.
I think I already mentioned that somewhere else but I think it would be something along the lines of Deus Ex but in one consistent world with sophisticated AI where (some) other characters work actively towards a goal and where the plot and the overall world's status can develop in lots of different ways. And I'd want it to be rather short and the world small but everything extremely responsive and dynamic.

tinyE: I have MH 2 and while it is only Marvel, it is a very extended list.
But don't you have to pay for them?
It will be The Universim. I tell you :-)

I think I got my games totally confused. I was thinking of Ultimate Marvel 2 which is different. Sorry. :P
My perfect game would be a Fallout 3 like RPG (first person, shooter like, similar character attributes, probably more advancement skills and choices), although not necessarily in a post nuclear setting (in fact, I think a current day setting could be awesome) but with much more realistic combat (my #1 peeve about all RPG's/shooters) with more survival elements. What I mean by realistic combat is one shot is generally severely limiting, if not incapacitating or killing.

It would obviously change dramatically the way the game would be played, but I do lose immersion shooting someone in the face 10 times with a shotgun from 5 feet and still have to pull the trigger. Same is true for stabbing them through the midsection with a long sword 5 times. Once, in real life, and you're done. But I think it would be fun to actually fear combat, or, more accurately, approach it with the respect it deserves. And have running away and living to fight another day be a valid, and often used, tactic.

To me, games often times get the story part right, sometimes very, very much right. And at times they even get the immersion done so well you can almost forget the unrealistic combat. But to me none have ever gotten the mechanics exactly right, in terms of combat and survival. Unfortunately it would probably be too hard to ever get right, in terms of making it meet those reality goals and still being fun to play. But, you asked for our perfect game. That would be mine.

I'd make a Flappy Bird 2:electric boogaloo
Turn-Based Tactical RPG, in the vein of Hoshigami, Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Ogre.
Only better, naturally...

And the only reason I took out outcast is because I don't know what it is. Having never played Warcraft, a modern one would be something to look into. Same with Mech Commander. Otherwise you've got the right idea, except I like all AoE games, but thought AoEIII had some improving to do and that it covered too much time.

On to my own thoughts on you subject: Kamiya Hideki, make a Star Fox, or a Mana, or an Animal Crossing, just make another Nintendo game, I'm dying to see what the man would do to them. Igarashi Koji, make a 2d, HD, classic Metroid game, please, oh please, oh please, oh please! I'd like it if Team Ninja took a swing at a not very big Zelda, or a Kid Icarus game or something like that. Kojima Hideo, make freaking Zone of the Enders 3, put it on PS4 exclusively please and make it as much a priority as an MGS game. Please and thank you, hugs and kisses, please do it.

Oh, and a game like Project X Zone, except with Konami characters, like Solid Snake, Naked Snake, and Raiden as a support; Tecmo characters; some of Nintendo's tamer characters; Platinum Games characters; if Square promised not to make it too much of a Square game then some Square Enix characters; and some others that I can't think of right now.

If I made the perfect game, I would call it... Megaman Zero 3.

Fixed. :P
You didn't state whether we were talking past, current or future tech.....I wan't to create a holographic virtual world. Then, using sensors inserted in your Superior temporal gyrus* I want to be able to manipulate this world and be able to travel to any time period and shape it to my will. Hell, I may even have an affair with Scholar Ling...

*Proof of just how intelligent I am.......I have the ability to use google.

Maybe not perfect, but that would be cool.
