A lot of them look very disgusting. Can someone who is a fan of the Oblivion game, recommend me some mods that make them better looking? I don't want the mods to make the game too unrealistic though, like for example, turn homeless beggars and hard working peasants into super models.

Sorry for the intrusion, carry on...
Search for Argonian facial textures and Argonian body textures. You'll have that race covered. Dunno other mods as it has been a while since I last played Oblivion.
It's the Skooma, man. That stuff will rot your face.

You forgot to add, Skooma will also summon a magical floating war hammer in the air, that smashes into your face 500 times yet somehow doesn't kill you. :P One of the things I love about Skyrim is much less Skooma users there...

There are "knee-cap archers" though....
The game itself was mainly aimed at the 360 so has all the bloom lighting and lower textures. The NPC's can look a bit goofy at times!

First off I would grab OBMM (Oblivion Mod Manager), this makes life much easier when using multiple mods as it knows about incompatible parts etc and can disable little bits if they clash, at first it looks a little complicated to use but the mods usually come with instructions on what to do with the specific mod and OBMM. Works much better than the mod manager built into the game on the startup splash screen

For a start I would get Quarls Texture pack, it retextures virtually the entire game and brings it up to modern PC standard, looks absolutely amazing.

For the Faces there is Natural faces and also TNR Complete which does all the NPC's, personally I think this second one is better.

Natural Faces :

TNR Complete :

http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/16843

There is also Beautiful Women and Handsome Gents :

http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/17189

Those links have screenshots and instructions with download links, bear in mind that most of the mods actually require Shivering Isles expansion. Another thing worth mentioning is that OBMM is compatible with all versions of the game whether it is disc based or Steam.

Its literally down to personal preference with the one you choose. You could grab all of them and try each one and see what you like best, just enable / disable them in OBMM.

Yeah. Before I was a gamer, I used to be an adventurer in Skyrim but then I took an arrow to the knee. :P I know this has been done to death 10000 times, please don't hate me. :)

You can get Quarl Texture Pack here (You need to get all the parts listed) Its a big download but worth it :

http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/18498

To see what I mean with the Quarl texture quality I took loads of Oblivion shots on Steam which is available on my community page :

WOW, huge difference. It makes Oblivion look more like Skyrim. Awesome. :)

Dude, when Oblivion came out the 360 was a powerful piece of hardware compared to the average gaming PC.
Beer. Lots of beer.

Yeah, Oblivion is an old game, old like the XBOX 360. I wonder why a new XBOX 360 is still 250 euro here considering how old it is...
