Just like I expected, empty, worthless hype. Sure just like last time, copy and paste day is a good oppurtunity for some people to get some offers they missed. That is it.

Shaolin_sKunk: It's almost like that was the whole point.
But that's crazy, a business would never want to make money.
You're quoting me out of context, never said I had a problem with them making money. Just that the sales take up the front-page and mean no games (or not many games) are released during the entire holiday sale period. But that's crazy, a business would never want to make money.
A little respect for the loyal customers who buy games they want exactly after release, and not just the noobs lured to the site with free games, would be appreciated.

Shaolin_sKunk: You must be a huge hit at parties. Lets face it there has been a lot of LucasArts related speculation lately, in particular connected with that studio that brought us System Shock 2. So everyone hyping something GOG related now will get compared to that. Personally only a top three publisher, Linux support or a AAA game release could really get me excited at all.

You know, these times could as well be when the team getting classic games up to par take their holidays.A little respect for the loyal customers who buy games they want exactly after release, and not just the noobs lured to the site with free games, would be appreciated.

Gog's here to make money, not to be your best friend and release games for you whenever you want. They have just as much obligation to cater to new customers as they do the old ones. How can they be expected to release the games you want without the money to back it up? Kristian: Considering that I am half the party/social commitee at work, I would say yes I am indeed.
I've been to office parties; that really doesn't inspire any confidence. I suspect you have a very different definition of "party" than I.

Crosmando: Actually, it's visible on the boards that the times of the most excitement and activity is when GOG releases classic games, not during sales.
Excitement does not equal money. Especially consideringmost new users who are splurging right now probably won't post in the forums. Additionally a good percentage of posts on those releases are of the "wishlisted, will wait for a sale" variety. If we could see the numbers being generated I would bet on GOG making loads more money now than when System Shock 2 was released.
edit: and actually, according to figures released by the Defender's Quest devs, we are pretty stingy, our average buy on that game was something like 1 or 2 dollars less than Steam's.
But they have an assload more users so that obviously plays a part, regardless, many more people waited for a sale here than Steam it would seem.
