I'm building a rail system, HELP MEGrr. Server appears to have some huge issues, I get sudden FPS slow down and I have to restart. I know it's not my hardware because it worked fine every day up til now.

lkraider: Here's an upclose shot of the Wizard's Tower, which I built during the last few days.
Went there nice work!
Okay, I finally bought the game, after reading many threads by people really having fun. The graphics are nice so far and it runs smoothly. I even connected to the GOG server ! Yay! There have been some crazy buildings!!

But... Is it normal i'm starting empty handed? What's the best way to start in a single player game? Does anybody have any advice?
@xa-_chan: Go gather up some lumber and coal so you can make torches for your first trip underground (usually that first night hiding from the monsters).

In single player you start empty handed. First thing to do is to gather materials and and scout a location for building your first shelter for the night as mobs will eat you if you are cauch in the open in dark areas. You'll need wood for workbench, tools and tool handles, coal for toches and furnace (you can burn wood too) and wood, dirt or stone for building the shelter. Stone will also be the primary material of your tools for the game as better ones are rare to waste and stone is everywhere.

Look up some minecraft let's plays at youtube. They both teach you the basics (or advanced stuff depending how far you follow the LP's) and let you see what to expect while playing.

It has all the crafting recipies you need to know to play the game. Then you kind of just do what you want and build stuff.
Ralackk> goodness gracious! Thanks a lot! That's what a call a useful website! ^_^ Things should be smoother now ! ^_^

Just one more thing and i stop boring you... for today ^_^ : I bought the game and downloaded the alpha version which is, if I understood well, the version for those who paid. I downloaded it, it's directly an application, no need to unpack anything or to install anything, right?

Yep, it just downloads something to your profiles AppData folder or something like that and that's all. Just have to start the exe file when you wanna play.
Good ! Thank you!! I just survived a second night, under attack by zombies... Man, I really need to learn to build things with something more resistant than wood...
Every time I try to connect to the multiplayer server now it crashes. :(

Hey everyone I'm the one hosting the server.

@VirtualPenguin : I was thinking of installing hey0's mod tomorrow, i'll take a look at llamacraft mod as well.
I'm not too sure about Runecraft thought.
Everyone remember to up-rep Emualynk for being cool enough to host the server!
