I mourn the loss of the GoG Minecraft server... There was a good amount of really epic building going on there. I hope it will return some day.

Emualynk thanks so much this server rocks!
Yesterday we couldn't get on, so a friend and I went on another server, only to be griefed with box loads of TNT. Today we came on, and set up, and were really happy with the set home feature. We've not built a castle/cave, with a working minecart..

Emualynk are you planning to keep monsters turned on? Just creepers are a pain in the arse. Exploring other peoples stuff and then a creeper comes and blows it up could get annoying.

Regarding the server going up and down, it's mostly because it's on a box that is unsupervised by Emualynk so at times we shout at him to update the server and he asks if it's still online :D
Best way to get things sorted when you see the server down is to drop on by on IRC on #gog on Quakenet and drop him a line so he can restart it.

I'd vote for turning them off... had several occasions where creepers were able to sneak up on me directly in my line of sight due to lag.
