It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

If you can't use the store/community tab/news tab whatsoever in Steam, take a look at this.
"Now using a WebKit based rendering engine for the client and in-game overlay web browsing components (replacing Internet Explorer)"
YES! I can finally use Steam's browser!

I certainly couldn't until I messed with some Internet Explorer settings. (although you can do it through the control panel as well ;))

I like apps that actually tries to blend in with the system it's running on (using native widgets and chrome, or at least borrowing their look). Steam has never been one of them as far as I can remember, of course, I haven't used steam since Half-Life 2 was released.

Red_Avatar: I still dislike the colour scheme - if they decided to change one thing, it should be that. I get depressed just looking at the client while the Impulse client feels so slick & smooth and upbeat next to it.

I don't like the Impulse client. There's only so much Calibri you can handle.
I really like it.

I don't like it either, but it's miles ahead of the Steam client (both current and butt ugly screen hogging beta) in that it's optional -- except when actually wanting to download/update something.
And that's the only thing I like about Impulse =/

i don't care about it
I don't like the look of Impulse either, but the new Impulse TV feature is pretty slick.
I haven't tried this Steam beta. I think I'll wait until it's out of beta. I don't mind Steam as it is. I use the obsidian layout and I like the simplicity of it.

bansama: Don't get your hopes up too much. The client has contained references to torrent support for a long time and nothing has transpired.

From what I know they're using the bittorrent tech (the peer-to-peer connection part more specifically) for voice-chat in the Steam overlay/friends thingy (not in-game) but I can be wrong on this.
Also, I don't own a Mac but it would be a nice move seeing that some games over there have Mac versions (just think of all the Popcap games).
I dont like the new steam, the webkit change is huge though, but everything else seems to value looks over functionality. and I prefer the later on my software.
Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss
Don't get fooled again
Stay away from Steam in all its incarnations.
Oohhh.. Fuzzy. I am turning it on to Beta as we speak.
Simply positively scrumptious. I like it. The interface is just yummy. Will take a bit to get used to though. Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah, Impulse TV is nice! Actually bought a two games because of them being featured there :p
I'll just wait until the official release as well, I don't use the steam client enough to put any effort in it. But I like what I see on the screenshots.
