The games list looks totally fabulous now but not the other tabs which were broken by this update, but I expect Valve to get that fixed after Episode 3 is released.
EDIT: ok maybe not after, otherwise Valve won't get peoples monies.

ovoon: Im getting the white for everything but the library section. :(
EDIT:
Speaking of Steam, I only have 2 friends... my username is ovoon7 send me some invites :)

I'm guessing you have the blizzard screen saver now on Steam....=P
I'm The Little Voices in Your Head.
Ugh. It's ugly. I have never liked light text on dark back grounds. Really hurts my eyes.
I also don't like the fact that it takes up half the bloody screen when shrunk to the smallest size the window will allow.
I'll probably revert back to the current client until they at least add the mini-game list size back.
It looks hawt to me. A little hard on the eyes, but I like the redesign.
Haven't used it yet, but I'm excited to try it when I get home.
EDIT: Damn, it's neat. I like it. Also, light text on dark backgrounds is so much better than dark text on light backgrounds...

Uninstalled it. It was way too ugly for me. Also be warned. Uninstalling the beta may cause Steam to redownload some of your games.
From the update page:
Clock in the in-game overlay (!)
I've been wanting that forever.
Since I have dual screens, I had setup a Windows clock gadget on my second screen just so I'd know what time it was.
This is also cool:
Now using a WebKit based rendering engine for the client and in-game overlay web browsing components (replacing Internet Explorer)

I'm really liking it so far; a nice addition is that you can also customize which jumplists get displayed on the icon in Windows 7.
Also, possible Mac support!

The update was much needed and I really like it ! I also like the fact they got rid of Trident engine for Webkit... finally. I think i'll use it for some time and see if it's as good as it looks.
I'm definitely liking it...much, much better.
Apart from a slicker interface, and a few more stats thrown about, is there really anything new in there at all?

Don't get your hopes up too much. The client has contained references to torrent support for a long time and nothing has transpired.

They're apparently working on the social networking side of it. Which isn't evident in the beta at all at this point.
I still dislike the colour scheme - if they decided to change one thing, it should be that. I get depressed just looking at the client while the Impulse client feels so slick & smooth and upbeat next to it.

I can't even use it. It literally hurts my eyes looking at it for more than a few seconds. Wouldn't be so bad if they hadn't removed the compact list =/.
