genkicolleen: Until recently, I pretty much only played casual games. I only played the lighter adventures, such as those by Cateia (
Hotel and
The Legend of Crystal Valley) and the casual adventures like
Dreamscapes: The Sandman (I have a link to get it the CE directly from the developer for $5.99 if anyone wants it) and
Nightmare Adventures: Witch's Prison, both of which were a lot of fun.
To be honest, I was intimidated, thinking I'd get stuck and have to start over >_< Since I broke through my little problem in November, I've played:
Journey of a Roach (very Machinarium-like; a lot of fun!)
NiBiRu: Age of Secrets (I'm surprised that this isn't at Steam OR GOG!)
The Whispered World (Good, but our main character's voice was SO morose!)
Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller Episode 1 - The Hangman (Fantastic, intense, very immersive -- waiting for when I'll be able to do a group play to finish the rest of the episodes)
The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav (Loved it! Memoria is #2 on my wishlist, right above Moebius)
A Vampyre Story (Loved it! What a hoot!
I have a disk version from Amazon)
Ghost in the Sheet (Hard, but quirky, and I really enjoyed it! Too bad it's scarcely available now!)
Doorways: Chapter 1&2 (Wow... I didn't know I could play this kind of survival-horror, and I LOVED it! Now I'm on a roll~!)
Serena (Short, FREE adventure, and very psychologically disturbing, at least for me)
The Longest Journey (A ton of talking, but I LOVE having a lot of story in my games!)
The Walking Dead: Season 1 & 400 Days DLC (Oh my gosh... FANTASTIC! I've never been so immersed (except for Cognition). I'm on my third play-through, making different choices. In case you hadn't guessed, Season 2 is at the very top of my wishlist!)
Violett (Already mentioned this one, but adding it here for completeness)
I'm looking forward to getting back into adventures, but alas, it has to wait until after I move in a month >_<
Good list. I've played Longest Journey, Vampyre Story, (love them both) and NiBiRu. NiBiRu wasn't too bad. it didn't engage me like some of the others, but I enjoyed it. All of my games are on disc. I never downloaded a game before last night (from gog, of course)!
