Aw... and there I was hoping it might come to GOG one day. Slim chances then, I guess, if they still see a market for it - just not for the PC. Just like Alice; I wish EA would at least re-release the classic as a standalone game. :(

I don't see how this would rule out a GOG release. If anything this is helpful because the developers are a lot more likely to licence it to GOG than whoever had the rights up until now were.

It was a Dreamworks game, so it's not incoming. And there are no hints about them being signed to offer games here.

It could happen, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't for at least a couple years. But you never know, they could be in talks, but not close enough to suggest that they're going to get Dreamworks.

Well, if the original developers can negotiate the rights to release it on smartphones I see that as a good sign that Dreamworks are open to licencing it.

Or the rights reverted back to the original developers, in which case it would be possible for Mr. Gog to just negotiate directly and would probably take a lot less time. I have a feeling that it's quicker to negotiate when there's only a game or two that's involved. Although not always.

That was my original interpretation of the situation and is what I was suggesting in the post you initially replied to. ;P

hedwards: And I want Mexican Coke to be easily available and as affordable as the crappy American Coke. Unfortunately, we don't always get what we want.

EDIT: Awww, I made myself sad.
Now you've made me sad as well. Mexican Coke and Manzana Lift is that too much to ask? Apparently.
Oh, I REALLY miss replaying The Neverhood. That game was a masterpiece. Yeah, it was easy once you knew the solution of every puzzle, but it was hard to get there, specially not having internet to search the solution. I was stucked in the middle of the game for over a year :P

The soundtrack is full of awesome, and the videos in the game are just unique :))
*looks at his own nickname*

No, I'd never buy it.

In all seriousness, though, I'd appreciate the DD release. I don't have a modern phone, so mobile version is out of the question for me.
Uhm, what can I say, politely.... who gives a damn fuck about a smartphone-based "game" ?!?
Do we know if this will be the original game, or a 'remastered' version like they did with Broken Sword?

Dreamworks Interactive is actually part of EA now.

Yep, they are now EA LA.

I really enjoyed The Neverhood. Well up until that story wall that goes on and on and on and on and on... I don't remember playing it much beyond that. If I even did manage to get past that.

That doesn't necessarily mean that all their IP made the transition with them though.

The story walls doesn't have to be read to continue on.....just run to the right as fast as you can. I once tried reading it all, and got maybe 8 walls/rooms/pages in....good times.

I think I did the same. But it was like being stuck in an infinite loop or something. I don't know. I don't remember it 100% clearly now, but that was definitely a point in the game that kind of ruined it for me as it threw me off a bit. I thought I was missing something in all that text that I'd need. After Myst anything like that is possible.
