Wishbone: For future reference: List of threads with lists. Make it a favourite and you'll always have it handy ;-)
Thanks. That's a good thread to know about - especially with the absence of a "User Guides" forum in which these threads could be stickied.
Still, I'll keep this thread going as it looks like the other netbook gaming thread is dead.

The GOG version of Raptor works on mine.

These below are non-GOG versions that I own, but I don't see how GOG versions would be any different:
Commandos Ammo Pack (Steam version)
Broken Sword 2 (CD version + ScummVM)
Divine Divinity (CD version)
Icewind Dale (CD version)
Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee & Abe's Exoddus (Impulse version)
Sanitarium (CD version)
Total Annihilation (CD version)

And then there are those DOS games which should work on any old computer, like Cannon Fodder, Duke Nukem, or those King's Quest games.

I see Divine Divinity listed so I will mention this.

Netbooks running 1024 x 600 can get menu / map clipping on Divine Divinity. To avoid this, play at 800 x 600.

It seems that DD has only two menu / map / quest log resolutions even though you can play the game at high res. If the horizontal res is higher than 800 the game uses the 1024 x 800 menus which causes the clipping. Playing at 800 x 600 causes the game to use the lower res 800 x 600 menus which can be seen on the 1024 x 600 netbook screens. See attached image.

As long as your vertical res is 768 or higher you shouldn't get the menu clipping regardless of what res you run.

Some netbooks don't get the clipping, some do . . . =)

Oh right, good call. It's designed for 4:3 ratio monitors, so it goes from 800x600 to 1024x720. Try using this method to make it run at 1024x600.

GoJays2025: ...
The game screen is fine when set to 1024 x 600 . . . but . . . only 1024 x 768 and 800 x 600 menus are available. The game screens fit the 1024 x 600 screen perfectly (or any size you want) but every time you open the map / quest log / game menu it will be clipped. The 1024 horizontal res causes the game to default to the larger menus even though the game screen is perfect.. . . =)

Basically, you have to use a res that has 800 or less horizontal res or the menus won't fit on the 1024 x 600 screen. The 800 res makes the game default to the smaller menus. A vertical res of 768 or more . . . you won't see the clipping regardless of your horizontal res.

You can add these games to the perfectly working games list:
- Jagged Alliance 2
- Commandos Ammo Pack
- Commandos 2+3
- Outcast
- Master of Orion 1+2
- Master of Magic
- The Longest Journey
- Heroes of Might and Magic 3
- Disciples 2 Gold

Netbook used is ASUS Eee PC 1201N (Dual core Intel Atom with the Nvidia ION chipset).

Lionheart: Legacy of the crusader works a treat on my Samsung N130.

It would be lovely if a minimum screen resolution were included in the system requirements of games, wouldn't it?
I'd like to contribute a few things:

1. If you use Windows 7 and want to increase your maximum res, BAM

2. Postal 2 runs great on the Acer Aspire One 532h, though there is occasional lag.
I hope I don't necro to much here but:

Kings Bounty - the Legend

Asus eee 1005ha (2 Gig ram) unplayable

You can get it to run with 3d analyzer and some manual fiddeling in the game.ini (resolution) but it's laggy as hell.

Disclaimer: I did only try the demo, as I have a crappy internet conection at the moment an 3.1 Gig would take ages..........

Hope this helps!
Neverwinter Nights plays a treat on an Asus T101MT.

Tropico Reloaded works very fine (Both games)

Realms of Arkania 1 - 2 run also on my Netbook, but I am using my German version. But I see no reason for any problmes with the english version

Asus eee 1005HA 2 GB Ram
Thread resurrected and updated.
I go MIA and people keep contributing. This community is pretty awesome :)
Gangland runs on my Acer Aspire One D260 1 GB RAM Intel Atom N450.

Issues with it include:

Major sound lagginess (speech is really slow and stutters..sort of like listening to a worn out cassette tape ...)

Some lag with actual gameplay.

I might test the game again now that I have Win 7 Ultimate and my actual manufacturer's sound card drivers but I am not expecting miracles.

Treasure Adventure Game:

Runs but I seem to have issues with the Action button not working after 5 presse. Apparentlyletting the entire intoro run its course and pressing the button only when actually needed seems to solve this issue.
