Greetings all

Being a netbook gamer myself, I've noticed that from time to time people ask questions pertaining to netbooks both in the general forum and in the game specific forums. Most common is the question of "Will this run on a netbook?" - probably asked at least once a week in various game forums.
So I thought that it might be practical to compile a list of useful information and resources for the netbook gamers among us - including a list of games that have been tested on netbooks, and the results of those tests. I'll start the list myself, but it is my hope that others will chip in with useful information of all kinds, as it is utterly unrealistic (both in terms of time and money) that I test every game on GOG myself. With that said, here is the list. I hope it will grow quickly and that you'll all find it useful:

Please help expand the list by reporting your findings, along with the specs of the netbook on which the game was tested. Reporting your specs allows me to give you credit for the testing, and allows other users to look up your post (with your specs there) to see the exact details of how the test was conducted.

Useful Resources for Netbook Gamers:
Demo links for GOG.com games - Demos are incredibly useful in determining whether or not a game will run on your netbook. Keep in mind though that demos often differ from the full game, and that even a working demo is no guarantee that a game will run on your netbook.

netbook-gaming.co.uk/ - A database of games tested on various netbooks, similar to the list posted above. Some games appear on GOG, many do not.

netbookgamer.com/ - Another netbook gaming site that posts daily recommendations for netbook friendly games. Games are not as easily searchable as on netbook-gaming.co.uk though.

Please help expand the list by posting links to netbook-relevant sites. You will be given credit for the find.

Thanks for reading The Netbook Gaming Thread. I hope you've found it useful, and will help improve it if possible.

I'll get on board with this. I use my Eee PC 1000HA extensively, but I haven't played a lot of games on it. I did try The Manhole though, and that ran well.

I'll try out some of my other games later and post the results.

That thread hasn't been updated for over a year. I don't think it'd hurt if we borrowed some of those results and kept this thread up to date.

Yeah, there are probably a few posts that weren't added to the list on the first page too.
Well I will add to the "Perfectly" list Fallout 1 & 2, Under a Killing Moon, Planescape Torment and the Betrayal Pack.

Credit given where credit is due. List updated. And thank you =) Sorry, wasn't aware of that one. I did a few searches for such projects before I started this thread, but they turned up nothing relevant.

Netbook specs would be useful so other users can look up your post and compare specs to their own.

Yo dawg, I heard you like lists, so we put a list in yo' list so you can lurk while you lurk...
Aren't these a bit high specced for Netbooks? I mean some of them are running Win XP. I might be missing something, but if it's beefed up enough to run the games as specced by GoG I'm not sure why it wouldn't work, PITA controller issues aside. Most netbooks have more than enough resolution to handle older games.

What's in my view more interesting is loading up FreeDOS and figuring out what games can be made to run on lower system requirements.
I can confirm Fallout and while I have not played all 6 games in the Might and Magic pack I can also confirm that M&M1 works fine, not that there was probably any doubt. :)

Edit: My netbook is a Win 7 machine though.
