So CowboyBepop is in, but actiondan is out, that still leaves us with 4 places. Entrants welcome.

wpegg: Starting this thread has just reminded my that I'm almost certainly going to fail my challenge on the Syndicate thread, and have to pay out. There is just too much to do at work at the moment, and the taxidermist wouldn't play along with my idea (I'm still working on it though).

Anyway, this is a giveaway. It comes in 2 halves. First I need entrants to list 4 GOG games they really want. The thing is, you have to really want them. They can't just be idle interests you'd like to try out. It's got to be games on your wishlist, you're wanting to play, but don't have the cash (The Witcher 2 is not an option). Such that if I gave you $10 tomorrow, you'd buy one of these games with it.

As a matter of interest, could you also post your age, to at least a rough degree of accuracy (such as early 20s, teen, mid 30s etc.). This won't affect your chances, it will just be interesting for part 2.

There will be 16 participants selected for part 2. It's possible that if you do well in that part you'll win all 4 GOGs.

There's no real time limit, you'll need to be about fairly regularly in order to be able to compete for part 2, so this is not a throw in your hat and see competition. I'll pick the contestants when I feel we have a good group.
Just have to post, you're generous as hell, and thank you for letting me play a bit in your last giveaway!

Timeszone bump, it would be good if we could get the other four players. It will work with fewer, but I'd like to stick to the plan. Don't feel that being out of the window for the 5pm start is an issue, I think that it's going to be a long game.

You were both really awesome. If you had a third guy on the team than I could call you "The three gifteteers" , which would make for a cool novel name. ;)

Well, let us say so. Right now I am kind of in a pinch due to certain urgent news I received only yesterday. I will not be online starting tomorrow until Wednsday/Thursday. If by that time you do not get enough people (and providing I see I will be available during the weekend), I might join to provide some support. I know spinefarm is just right for this compeitition (do not get me wrong - not because he is nasty, but because he really wants those games and also is really good at trading).
I rather expected YOU would not want me to join due to all I posted itt.

Not at all. I have not ever taken offense or felt wronged at anything you've posted. It's a risky giveaway, hence the title. I'm happy for people to comment such.

If we don't have the numbers for sat I'll pm you, see if your internet is holding out and can play.

Well there could be other reasons - wrong game choices, for isntance. In any case I think I will re-appear on GOG forum somewhere Thursday or may be even Wednsday, if matters allow me to.
So.... it is bed story time... Guess this will be the last thing for today. Also since I promised myself to do it. To make this thread less nasty and also for those of you who do not lurk much I am going to (re-)tell of what happeend to me and the gifting thread.
So, as some of you might know I am not really SO much into asking for stuff, trading - a little more (if only I was not so terrible at it). But asking really is not my thing so much. However, having noticed how people are open and generous here and having run out of most of my stuff for trading I decided to post a request in the gifting thread.
There was this Acitivision sale going on and I noticed some really cool games and thus I posted the list of four games on sale. The idea was quite simple - since the sale was a limited time this was the best time at all to ask for those games, but when the sale would be over it would make sense to just remove the request altogether so that potential gifter would not have to pay full price. Sounds like a plan? Yeah, right....
I did make my post and rong44 was so kind as to even gift me one of the games (Return to Krondor). The sale was over, I removed my request leaving only "thanks rong44 for Return to Krondor") and forgot about the whole deal.
Than yesterday I saw jdrez offering an AWESOME game selection in the gifting thread, which consisted for 100% from my wishlist. I tried applying, but it was already too late - CowboyBebop got that code. I just edited my application to something like "very nice of you" and bowed out.
Can you imagine how astonished I was when I discovered I was supposed to be the potential recipient of this gift? Appears jdrez had the code for me all this time than got confused by my editing out the request and thought I got the games. What a funny situation! I posted about that and got a PM from him with a code for one of the games (Interstate'76) as a gift.
I redeemd it and got back to the Gifting Thread and only than saw that CowboyBebop actually only wanted Interstate game out of the whole pack.
Thus I decided to try and offer him a trade for some stuff I had (yeah, you DO have a right to call me greedy here, if you want - but he did not seem interested in other games at all, and I was able to at least give him something for them).
So the idea was IF the code was unredeemed than I could redeem it first, Interstate would still be there and CowboyBebop would get it plus something I have. I had little hope as around 12 hours passed since he got the code, but it never hurts to ask, right? Besides, I did let him know he was not obliged to trade with me in any way.
Can you imagine my astonishment (again) when it appeared that he both did not redeem the code and thought it "right" to just give it to me?
Thus now I happily got my wishlist cleared and he got Interstate, while jdrez could actually make even more people happy.
Where I want to go with this is this - GOG people, you are really a very solid and nice community. When the giveaway starts do not forget it and it will help everyone in the course of the giveaway.
This story is also to put another (potential) gifting idea into wpegg's head. Namely buying packs of games, parts of which people already have (this would leave some games unredeemed) and making them pass those around in certain order.
There are still 4 places for this game on sat. Currently people have a 2/3 chance of winning a game. 1 / 2 if we get the other 4 people.

I really am not sure you can in this case just divide the number of games by number of participants to evaluate the probability of someone getting a game.
I can enter. I just found out that I will stay this weekend at home with access to internet :D
