Well it's more of my own personal recommendation than asking what everyone's personal favourite game OST is, but this is seriously solid stuff
Never played AOC? Want to have a preview? Check out the composer's (Knut Avenstroup Haugen) site:
http://www.knutavenstrouphaugen.com/ (first two songs that you find in the Music page are some of the best you find in the CD)
Works perfectly alongside medieval/historical games like Mount & Blade too

I remember finding the Quest For Glory 5 soundtrack pretty sweet, and I remember playing the music to Dark Sun 2 to death ( but maybe that was just because it was the first game I bought where I could also play the music straight on the CD player ) :)

Advent Rising had quite an epic Tommy Tallarico soundtrack. However, my favorite soundtrack is still Vampire: Bloodlines selection of goth and industrial rock, but I wouldn't really call it "epic".

IMO, the only horrendous part about it is they never finished the trilogy and that they ended the first game with a massive "to be continued" cliffhanger. I have heard that the Xbox version has control issues, but the PC version (the version I have) seems perfectly fine to me.
