anjohl: If peppers are hot as an evolutionary adaptation to mammals (Due to our being poor seed-couriers due to range limitations vs. birds, which are immune to capacsin as an evolutionary result), but we SEEK OUT hotter peppers, wouldn't that mean that eventually peppers will get LESS hot due to the hottest kinds being desired by humans?

no, because the ones we eat are cultivated. they will only get hotter because we determine whether they are replanted or not, so we will replant the ones we like best, which are hot.

sounds like you got yourself a level 9 clinger. GTFO DUDE!

He is referring to our capsaicin receptors. Obviously the amount in the peppers will not change, but our reaction to capsaicin may. However, as you mention, we cultivate hotter peppers.
As such, if any evolution/adaptation will occur, it is likely that peppers, as a whole, will be "less hot" as far as we are concerned, with a select few super-peppers that are "freaky hot" as far as we are concerned.

She might be clingy, but she is in a good way. I've known her since 3rd grade, she has NO self-esteem what-so-ever, and all she needs is some love. That, and good firm slap on the ass every once in awhile.

You know, I think that's what I meant, in a roundabout way.
The thing is though, does our actions directly affect wild peppers? I suppose, the seeds get pooped out, and fertilize eventually.

anjohl: Aliasalpha, though I figured it out a while ago that you are in fact a guy, having the avatar you do is somewhat confusing sometimes, especailly when you make comments about things being "girly", lofl.

If there isn't an internet rule about that already there should be.
"Assume all people on the internet are fat unattractive male nerds until proven otherwise."

Yeah, I know. I know.

Yeah, I keep telling that to my friends too! Well except the 3rd grade part. "Clingy" is not necessarily a bad thing, but most people seem to think so...

trust me, clingy is a bad thing. it's when the attachment goes beyond good into the obsession range. girls are fun to do stuff with, but if one is around EVERY SECOND OF THE DAY it gets really annoying.
Gotta have boundaries, otherwise a person devlops into someone who can not handle life alone. Personally clingy chicks annoy me, because they tend to take everything to serious, then again, they are good for some fun but..... that misleads them........../sigh cant win :P
A) You went to bed with one girl, woke up with two.

Trust me, I have been in relationship with clingy woman for almost 2 years now and, trust me, it really depends on nature of the guy. So, and you can trust me on this one, you could really consider the fact guys can sometimes get clingy too. Everyone's unique.

Ois: (true story) This morning I woke up about 4 am, freaked out for an unknown reason while swearing, panicked and stumbled into the door. It scared me as I don't know what caused it :S

I think that's what they call a night terror. I've had some pretty nasty ones myself (such as a couple of times where I literally jumped screaming down a staircase in order to get away from... well, I've no idea. It must have been pretty scary). Some info here: http://www.nightterrors.org/mot.htm

Interesting. I'll read more on it when I have the time. Had nothing before like this, and hopefully not again any time soon.

It's probably happened 5-10 times in my life, and when it happens it often happens again a few days/weeks later. Then I sleep well for a few years again. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much that can be done to prevent these things, but have a look at their forum for some hints and tips about how to deal with it.

WE don't go to the same school, and my parents and hers are divorced, so seeing each other sometimes gets complicated. I love her enough though to make it work.
