Crewdroog: I was messing with my pawn in Dragon's Dogma and tried to make him look like He-Man. It turned out ok

Well, the hair is definitely there.

wolfsrain: And as a villain - yeah, Skeletor, because well, a man with a skull for a face, it does quite an impression.
Yeah, a real skull, not just a mask... can't get more badass than this.

dr.schliemann: Fantastic nostalgia-driven giveaway!
Thank you so much for bringing us back to the eighties, well, and for the giveaway too!
I am happy you enjoy the giveaway. Well, that was one of its purposes...
Don't know about the film, but knowing how this kind of things usually go, I shudder at the thought...

park_84: BTW, a proof that He-man is better:

The very same Superman recognizes it.
Ah! Very good evidence.

blotunga: As for the good guys, I loved that large-eared fellow (if wiki is right then Gwildor) :).
Ha ha, Gwildor... nice choice!
Good guy: Man-at-Arms Mostly because he was a Dune ripoff (General Duncan - Duncan idaho)
Bad Guy - Skeletor He was a bad-ass.

Correct! The movie could be defined as terrible, but I enjoyed watching it nonetheless: it's pure eighties nonsense.

A typical example of the notorious "so bad... it's good!" effect!
I adore 80s nonsense! And judging by the trailer this movie has load of it (they even changed He-Man's trademark hairdo... nice mullet! Can't get more eighties than that!)
* bump *
Not in, as I've been very lucky lately, but thanks for your generosity, cose_vecchie!

^Same here.

But I can't leave an awesomely themed giveaway lie by the wayside, without at least talking about the subject a bit for fun.
I got He-Man, Skeletor and Orko when the classic edition figures came out. Wasn't exposed to the cartoon back then, just thought the toys were incredibly cool. Still, read the mini comics that came with the figures. Favorite good guy: likely Man-At-Arms, bad dude: Trap Jaw.

Didn't have an original Battle Cat, but get this: I owned a Big Jim line tiger figure which mold was reused in the Battle Cat toy. It had regular tiger colors, but I slapped some fake fur on its back as a saddle for He-Man and was happy about it. The Big Jim set was called "Big Jim on the Tiger Trail", this article has images.

Similar solution was found for Castle Grayskull (I'd have loved to obtain the original one back then though): I used some remains of a medieval castle set I had lying around and crafted the iconic entrance out of wood if I remember that right. Worked well for me.
Cool stories, thank you for sharing! Thank you for linking the article as well; a brilliant piece of work, although sadly lacking in the vehicles department.

Let's remember that in the comics there were no Prince Adam nor royal family; He-Man was actually a barbarian warrior.

Thank you for this cool giveaway and the trip down memory lane Grayskull-style! Oh, and I don't recall that about the comics; although if I dip into my 80s nostalgia glands (sorry, that might be a weird thing to picture), I believe I always thought of He-Man as a badass barbarian fighter. Makes sense now.
Thanks cose_vecchie! Please count me in.

Unfortunately I am too young to remember much about He-man, so I'll pick a) He-man and b) Skeletor.
i was going to post something, but perhaps not afterall....

yet thanks for the giveaway - when i was kid i always wanted to have He-Man toys, but my parents never bought any. Had to be content with Playmobils. The trauma.

You're welcome! About the comics: I bet you can find a scan of those somewhere on the internet if you search hard enough. One has just to think that Prince Adam's action figure was introduced only later in the toy line, after the cartoon had reached success.
Man-at-Arms' figure looked quite different from Duncan in the cartoon: the latter had surely a gentler countenance and even mustache! I remember drawing it on the toy with a brown pencil!

No problem, they fit in!

LOL – I had some Playmobil as well, they were cute after all... :)
But I see your point...
You can take part in the giveaway all the same, if you want!
My favorite...when i was a kid.. i figured Teela was a hot woman xD
I was always a fan of skeletor because i got a action figure of him and it was awesome to play with skeletor :D

I'm in for Arx Fatalis, thank you very much!!

I watched this show for a while when I was younger. I can only remember Adam (He-Man), his kitty cat and Skeletor. And I can faintly remember some of his friends. The girl and another guy.
So I'd say my favorite protagonist would be He-Man and Skeletor my fave antagonist.

As for why everybody didn't realize Adam's He-Man...well, I still have a scene in mind where they laughed at the notion, because Adam isn't that strong or something.

Oh, just remembered there's that smal wizard guy, too. Funny dude.
Thanks cose_vecchie. Can we enter even if we didn't watch that cartoon? Thanks in either case for the great giveaway!

Edit:
Thats a lot of characters in your link in the post below this one. I kind of like the look of Scare Glow and the name too. Sticking with He-Man as the good guy.
Changed my forum title too once I figured out where.
Thanks again!
