Tarm: Frankly the only thing I care about now is the end result. I don't want more excuses I want old classic games and GOG are barely releasing them any more. GOG isn't even informing us much about this except saying "Soon" about just freaking everything. You going into politics GOG?
Bottom line. Just make it work GOG. If you can't be open about it. There are probably loads of people here that can help.

Hey. I'm a Grumpy Old Gamer. Classic LucasArts games are more important to me than sex!

JudasIscariot: Maybe the reason we aren't releasing them is because a) we're testing them b) holidays and the holiday season rush c) technical issues with the games need be worked and re-tested and d) the holidays being what they are a lot of companies might not be as responsive since their people are probably off for the holiday season?
Dare I remove that Maybe? That would be swell.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. Holiday season sucks! ... And that, when more Lucas Arts games would be such a nice Christmas gift to lots of people. I hope your technical issues can be solved in time for Christmas. ... And if not, I'll just buy the other Lucas Arts games next year.

...but I'm still not going to buy regionally priced games. Sorry. ;-) I'm saving my money for the games I a waiting for. :-)

Dude, relax, older games are coming so don't worry about it :) Yes, this means more Lucas Arts but when I can't say. Just rest assured that the Lucas Arts and other classics are being worked on :)

I must say it's nice to get some positive news. Patience cup not on overflow alert any more.

Tarm: How come I'm not surprised. Steam and others are releasing old games faster than GOG and I wouldn't be surprised if their catalogue of old games soon are bigger than GOGs.
Perhaps it's time to take some of your business to Steam, then (if you haven't already).

I do use steam because a lot of games I want unfortunately are exclusive steam.
Though I wont buy old classic games there. They often have a lot of problems so I wait for them to come to GOG.

All right. You'd probably be okay getting DOS titles through Steam (such as the recent Retroism/ND releases) since they'd just use DOSBox, unless most of the games have issues similar to, I think, Fleet Defender.

I certainly want to see GOG thrive, but if they aren't bringing the games people want, I say take your business to the place that has what you really want.

Yeah I know some of them aren't that hard to get to work properly but I've been with GOG for so long that I'm loathe to give up. :P

GOG is still the best place I've found for old classic games so there aren't better alternatives really.

Dude I get that you don't want to pay more than in the US but did you even bother researching why games tend to be more expensive over here in Europe before starting your crusade?

Task Force 1942 is another fail. To add insult to the injury, Retroism/Night Dive's games are signifcantly more expensive for Europeans on Steam.

Tarm: Even more indie games.

yay...

Grargar: Guess what will be released tomorrow? Dead State, another indie game.
Looking forward to it but i'm worried it's still a buggy mess.

I assume regionally priced too, eh?

On a side note, this cat fetish of yours is getting pretty serious, I see. ;-)

Who knows. At this point, assume everything.

There are several reasons, but for actual real reasons, four major ones are:
F rance
I taly
G ermany
S pain

...and the fact that it is costly to do translation and localisation for those countries. And that often inflates the price.

Which really sucks, if all you need is the original English version of the game.

Of course then there's the whole VAT/Euro issue, but that is often just a poor excuse to keep higher prices. Often the price difference is nowhere near the VAT rates or currency conversion fees...
