It began with the adventure of Brandon, the rightful heir to the throne left empty by treachery and murder. The first Legend of Kyrandia the hero comes of age during his travels, learns some essential magic spells, recovers a mystical artifact, and faces his parents' murderer. Years pass. Zanthia, a young female alchemist and wizard encountered in the first game, discovers that the kingdom of Kyrandia is in great danger. In The Legend of Kyrandia: Hand of Fate the land seems to be mysteriously disappearing, piece by piece. The beautiful heroine has to embark on a dangerous quest which will lead her to some unsettling discoveries. She will also find her one true love, whether she want's it or not--just in time to save his sorry behind. Finally, the story will come full circle and you'll see things from a whole new perspective. In The Legend of Kyrandia: Malcolm's Revenge the villain of the first story makes a comeback, and this time he has to make it without his magical powers. Is he really the murdering maniac we thought he was, or just a regular maniac with no blood on his hands?

Wouldn't you just kill for some good old-school point-and click action? Don't you feel you could murder a classic fantasy trilogy? Get the complete Legend of Kyrandia saga for only $5.37, until Tuesday, January 7, at 10:59AM GMT
Quite late for a news, isn't it? :>
Earlier discussion about this sale in this topic.
Just a tip for you Gog: I recommend you extend this promo for another day to avoid an unpleasant backlash.
Luckily I saw JMich's tip on the other news tread, but if I hadn't and I missed the promo I would feel extremely annoyed.
I may pick these up. I like point and click games and these look good.
Better late than never but I know nothing about these games. They seem to be half way good looking point & click adventure titles ala BASK which would be great if I didn't already have a load of similar games on my back log.
I have them all alreadyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy :o)

the first one is actually pretty good for its age, it uses the modern left-right-click controls (no stupid icons), it's often witty and often very, VERY dark... also, the music is fantastic.

but maybe that's just nostalgy speaking...

and maybe not, I've played the first game for about 5 hours last month and I enjoyed it greatly!

The first one is the worst of the series. The atmosphere is good, the game not so much. Way too easy and quite short.
And it's not "modern left-right-click controls" but "bullshit Machinarium one-click interface". At least in Kyrandia you can die if you mindlessly click on everything without thinking a bit.
Still a charming game, but Hand of Fate and Malcolm's Revenge are way better, eventhough they share the same interface.

Edit : since it's an adventure thread, WHERE ARE MY LEGEND ENTERTAINMENT GAMES ? Not to mention the rest of Infocom's catalog ? Does Zork sell that badly or doesn't Activision have the rights to the Lurking Horror & co ?

I wanted the first one so bad when it first came out... Never got to play any of them tho, I'll finally catch up! Thanks GoG once again.

have you tried for example Simon the Sorcerer 1 recently? having to click 2 times just to talk to someone, to walk somewhere, to look at something? that's ancient history of pain! so Kyrandia, even though it has not a perfect controls, made a HUGE step forward in UI experience...

I only played Hand of Fate for a short time and the third I didn't at all, but as I own them now I'll definitely will :o)
Great offer.
Insta-buy been waiting on this. Time for some crazy alchemy
Hand of Fate is the best game in the series, it's got great voice acting, fair puzzles, and just oozes fun and charm. The first one's not bad either, but has numerous odd design elements. Working on the third one now, mostly more of the same but I'm not crazy about the laugh tracks played randomly every time Malcolm says something or the look of the pre-rendered environments.
